Well, I'd love to implicate myself, but I haven't drawn anything. I can't. I suck at drawing.

I merely mentioned Hirtes, because he'll have to find an excuse to rant on, continuing to commish furry porn through '04, if not '05. Plus, he's like a rattler without the fangs. So fun to poke with the stick. Wheeee. He's also a member.

I'm not a fan of ER either. I just happen to have a directory on my hard drive with all sorts of appearances of furries on TV (with all the furry bits from that episode of ER). I've got everything from the news bit with Sly/Yappy Fox, to MTV's Sex2k, to Rapid T. Rabbit's appearance on the Daily Show. They provide amusement to me. I still get the heebie-jeebies every time I see "Wabbit". I mean, this behemoth is such a buttertroll that she literally waddles as it tries to move around. I don't even think "Comic Book Guy" is so messed up.

And that doofus husband of hers! I swear to dog that he must be Bondage Bob's long-lost twin. Between the she-beasts' waddling and his laying on his back like a retarded toddler to expect a "fur pile", I knew then and there that furrydumb's rep was permanently flushed down the cosmic toilet.

2. Is the fact that she croaked supposed to deny the fact that she was a demented buttertroll? Is the fact that "Mark the horsef*cker" being dead supposed to mitigate the fact that he screwed a Shetland Pony which he'd allow to take a dump all over his "house"? No. Death only means that Reality finally put an ubrupt end to such stupidity.

It's why I'm sometimes glad that Man is a mortal creature. Yeah, it croaks the Einsteins of the world, but it also sweeps away the Stalins as well.

Every time I watch that episode of Anna in Wonderland, I cringe a bit. I felt sorry for her. Diving headfirst into furry lifestyling is something I would never recommend anyone to do.

Also, I may have a Mariner Moose bobblehead next to my monitor, but you'd never catch me going to a Mariners game just to see the moose. Ichiro, yes. Moose, no.

One final note, I find it funny that Ursus and Wabbit actually did say "Happy Wabbit!" and "Happy Bear!" in that special. It makes Shawn Keller's Happy Wabbit animation all the funnier.

Having watched the whole...erm...thing, I have to say I'm pretty disgusted. The behavior of these people is just astounding. I felt very very very bad for Anna, even a little worried about her at some points. While the furries seem to want us to think they're just a bunch of grown up kids with an eccentric hobby, there's a certain undercurrent of sexual menace about them. These aren't kids, these are horny, creepy people who you certainly wouldn't want under the Minnie Mouse costume at Disney World.

Fursuiters can't complain about this stuff, because this is their culture. They can whine all day that we just don't understand, but it's hard to fight the gut instinct that says "Okay, this is just wrong."

Maybe the real disturbing part IS that they juxtapose childish glee with overt and aggressive sexuality. Two things that really do not belong together. It's like an orgy in a special ed class.

I feel kinda sad for Wabbit. Her husband has repeatedly had sex with 34 men and she tries to play it off as nothing. That has to be something that haunts you a night when you lay in bed with your spouse.

All in all, I just can't shake the deep, deep feeling of dread that accompanied every frame of that thing. You really do start to feel tainted by just watching it. I can't imagine what Anna felt like. <shudder> Furpile, indeed.

I have to agree with you in this sense. There's a difference between merely not seeing the point in something or even disliking it (though silly to do so) because it's outside of what a person defines as normal. Normality in some ways differs from culture to culture, place to place, and person to person.

But, there are other things that don't even consciously register as abnormal. They simply trip an alarm somewhere in the back of your mind.. the same kind of alarm that goes off when something is legitimately not right. That's not to say furries like those in the video are destined to be serial killers and such.. but there is something about them that just doesn't sit well in the psyche. Something genuinely creepy. The same kind of creepy as the old lady down the street that has 100 cats and never leaves her house.

And remember, the main difference between an "eccentric" hobby and a crazy one is how wealthy you are. :D

LOL. One of the best statments I've read in a while. And you're right. There's just something creepy.. even if ultimately harmless.. about throwing childish interests and adult sexuality together into a vat and stirring them together. Of course, most of us here can't really throw stones too much, given our evenings of fapping to furry porn in the past, present, or frequent future (hi Skunkfuckers, Inc.). But, there is some difference in throwing a dash of xenophilia into sexual fantasy and practically living, eating, and breathing this make-believe fuzzy world and doing stuff like displaying furry porn in your home like it was a Norman Rockwell.

I couldn't even watch the video with sound (no sound card on my work computer), and just looking at those hambeasts in collars and ears pointing to pictures of furries butt fucking gave me the willies. When you look at the folks that are that hardcore furry.. the ears, the collars, the lack of fashion sense, and the rolls and rolls of lard.. it really reinforces the idea that these people discover their "true" furry selves as little more than a means of hiding from their true human existence.

There's a difference between escapism for fun, and escapism for the sake of not wanting to deal with reality. I have to seriously think people like those in the Anna in Wonderland video are after the latter.
