No, and no.

I've only ever drawn maybe two dozen pictures, for real. I draw maybe something every few months, with loooong pauses of inactivity in between. What you see there isn't so much a product of continual artistic practice, but focused pencil-pushing to make something of an image.

I hadn't seen the colored version. I think the coloring could have been better. It looks odd to me. (Yeah, I know someone else did it.)

If you say so... well, here I go.

Let's first start with the formal aspects of the picture. There's an evident effort to capture the imaginary anatonies of those two creatures. Technically, the picture looks allright, with right proportions, the different weight of the lines here and there help to bring the idea of volume, and you took the work to give the body lines a jagged look to help define the characters as furries. The asymetrical position of the figures help to bring some dynamism to the scene, up to certain point.

But, in my eyes, this picture has no more merit than that. I mean, while technically it looks okay despite the theme, it's void, expressionless, empty. It looks like a mockup, an artificial creation, a setup where the characters don't have a -real- sexual intercourse but just pretend they have. And they do it without much conviction on what they do.

I don't know how much sexual experience you've got. But, so far, all the sex I've had myself was pleasant, fun, a process that involved way more than putting my dick in a vagina and rock my hips. It's a game of caresses, of rubbings, of kisses and lickings. So then, and despite I dislike using myself as a reference, when I draw porn I try to reflect all the fun I usually have with sex. I try hard to go beyond the mere penetration, and put effort on my characters' expressions, either corporal or facial. Dreaming eyes on females, lustful grins on males, bodies graciously curved on females, hands reaching on males, and so many other little details.

Those are the details I'm missing on this picture. The lack of expression is not only present on the faces of the characters, but in their bodies, too. If you cut these chars' heads away from the picture and paste them on a body of somebody reading a newspaper or watching TV, it wouldn't make a difference. If you delete the male's body entirely from the picture, it wouldn't look strange, you wouldn't miss anything. There's no intercourse between the characters, despite the pretty obvious penetration and the hand on the breast.

Despite the explicitness of the picture, the picture fails to successfully portray a mutually consentual sexual intercourse. There's no passion transmitted to the viewer, no interest, no 'soul'. This picture is as expressive to me like the blueprints of a house.

Many people fail to understand that the MAIN purpose of ANY piece of art, be it furry or anime or traditional American comics or medieval illuminatio or Manierism or impressionism or whatever, is not approaching to the real model as perfectly as you can, but using the skills you've got to EXPRESS. The better, subtler and more cleaer your stuff expresses a feeling, or a thought, or whatever makes us sentient beings, the better artist you are.

So here goes my suggestion, Skunkfuckers Inc.: Enough drafing the -outside- of furry creatures. Try to focus on their INSIDE now, and the parts of the body that reflect those insides.

it's hilarious because:

a. the dragon-ish dude looks like he's wearing novelty party glasses

b. the winged fox/wolf/whatever-thing lady looks bored as all hell, which really sums up the rest of the pic quite nicely

I figured it was simply that he really wasn't the last of his species... durrrh :roll:

BTW, Final Fantasy: Advent Children... from seeing the trailer for the movie it seems Red XII is shown along with Barret, Yuffie, etc., but the context looks as if it may be in a flashback or a recollection of previous events. So far from what I can tell aside from Tifa, only Vincent makes a live appearance. Considering Cloud mentions that he's lost friends to the virus, and the conspicious absence of other characters from the game, that it means they may have fallen victim to the plague. Vincent already being undead wouldn't be affected, though I wonder if Red XII should also be immune since he's not human...?
