This is why furry fandom loses so many talented artists. Let's suppose that, by whatever reason, you would prefer NOT to see your characters engaged in sexual situations. That's easy to understand and accept... EXCEPT on furry fandom.

In furry fandom, nothing is safe from sexualization. From mild, innofensive cartoons conceived to appeal little children to everyday animals, to creations made ex-profeso for furries. It's not just that furry fandom has a sexual side, something I'd understand. It's just that it STINKS like a Guinean whorehouse. And the stench is so intense and sickening that most sane artists prefer to stay as far of it as possible.

Artists HAVE to draw nude and pornographic imgaes of their characters, even if they weren't originally intended for that purpose. It's an implicit fact on furry fandom. Those characters' private lives have to be public domain - hence the reams of porn featuring Sabrina, Zig-Zag and/or that faggy ringtail I always forget the name. And, if the artist doesn't want to, or he/she is not part of the furry fandom by whatever reason, there's always a hand that will scribble that porn before wanking at it.

On an unrelated noted, what the hell is supposed to mean the new soviet-like mascot picture on CYD Forums' page? It's been there for a long while an I still don't get the joke, if any.

I think we are going to see a minor 'anti-furry' (God I hate saying that) fault soon. Artists do have a right to defend themselves from shit like this, but if David takes action I can see a league of shit-flinging hate mongers and Sibe-wannabes screaming 'draaaaaaaaaaaama!' to it all.

I only say this because I decided to email Simpson over this, and if he does what I hope he does, I can see the furry baiter reaction right now.

Unbelievably, Simpson is not a furry but one of the refugees from it's early era. This particular 'work' wasn't done to antagonize him. It was done in some shadowy corner of the internet as wank material. If he has a way to handle it, kudos to him. I still don't see how your psychic ability to know what David Simpson knows and thinks affects my email habits.

He wrote some things about it before, on the old Words section of the site, and another time in his LJ. I'd rather not know about these things, of course I'm here so I guess I want to know these terrible things exist, they're wonderfull conversation pieces.

Depends. If a child character of mine is sexualized somewhere else, no I would not like to know simply for the sake it exists. If I was trying to sell a comic of said character to newspapers and promoting the sale of an anthology of said comic... Would I not have a valid reason to see to it that such infringements which might harm are at very least monitored?

This is where Simpson can indeed actually declare IP theft, and 99% of furries cannot.

Back in the day, cartoons used to be all about the humor and the violence.
None of this dirty picture show that furries (thats "ie" plural right?) make out of just NORMAL family programming.

Just give me a cartoon with traps, guns, bombs and throw in some TNT for a finale. None of the furry crapola, just stuff thats safe to let the whole family watch. Tom & Jerry got it right; came strap every week to try to blow each other off the face of the Earth, but it was safe family programming.

Yeah, Im a funny animal fan simply because its funny to watch them whop each other with large mallots, frying pans, and the occasional but popular shovel.

The coyote from the WB cartoon always found ways to chase after and catch the roadrunner every week, just to have the same funny result at the end...

I went and saw your Alice Otter comic; you tackle the real life situation and da funny aspect of it.

I think with Ferret Wars where it could be popular is if it werent just a comic strip. I think you need to go all the way with your animation and convert it to a flash movie series.

The artwork and the content are good in both and I see potential/$$$.
