Old news... very old news in fact (like, February)... Dave Hopkins produced a comic strip version of Robert Heinlein's SF novel "The Puppet Masters". As if that wasn't lolleriffic enough, he did it as a "Comic Hostage", ie he showed a couple of pages to get his fan horde's interest then got them to "donate" to see more.

Copyright entered into the discussion, and the usual fandom incomprehension of the subject was displayed.

So, yeah, copyright may be a problem. But then, isn't Robert Heinlein alive and Dave's doing a remake of Puppetmasters RIGHT HERE?

I regret to report that Robert Heinlien has been dead for a long time. The way I'm playing this adaptation is as a tribute to Mr. Heinlien and his work. The money is donation money and the comic is the incentive to get people to send that money in. However if Mr. Heinliens wife (Who stil alive and is looking very young for her age) or any other member of his estate decide that this is inapropriate then you wil all have to go out and find the novel, wich I think is out of print... Good luck! But then theres always the donald sutherland version....

If he's making it as a tribute to Heinlein, he could at least spell the guy's name right.

Dave Hopkins... Dave Hopkins...

Oh. Him.

If he's making it as a tribute to Heinlein, he could at least learn to draw. And use humans. See - it even says it on the first page.

Scratch that. If he's doing it as a tribute to Heinlein, he could... not do it.

If he makes a "Stranger in a Strange Land" tribute, I do feel my brain will have enough mercy just to explode and take me out of this world.

Also, why do furries need such massive forum signatures which only have the same character in the same pose drawn by mostly the same artist?
