Gonterman's work looks like scraps from something Phil Foglio worked on while half-asleep with a broken #2 pencil but it is still ten billion times better than anything I can do so no comment on the artistic merits. That's why I write.

Ah, that would be the Terrie Smith Syndrome.

One reason many furries may wear diapers is sheer convenience. I mean.. hell... you don't have to leave your fursuit, you don't have to pull your eyes off of Rogue while playing Sonic to go to the bathroom... you just....... go. Since they can't pee or deficate in public like the animals they know they were originally destined to be born as, diapers allow the next best thing. Animal kingdom superiority, human discretion.

Or something equally FUBAR-ed.

Actually, to have no improvement in one's art style after several years of practice would be more of a syndrome named after Scott Alston (although "Alstonitis" is a term in the bad art lexicon*), Kelly Price, or Kthanid.

"Terrie Smith Syndrome" is more of the type of artist who carpet-bombs a fandom with the same old stuff in cookie-cutter fashion, as if it's now being made in a third world sweatshop.

This is true. I come across something of Alston's from time to time, and haven't seen much in improvement. The characters are still just as overinflated, rigid, and 2-dimensional as ever with no real connection to their surroundings... kind of like those old static-cling picture playsets.

I guess Terrie Smith Syndrome would include symptoms such as attempting to render Mucha-esque backgrounds in pin-ups while using a single horizon line as a "detailed" background in comic frames and generating pin-up images by copying Playboy shots almost verbatim.. then simply adding coon spots around the eyes or something. Remember, kids, if your stuff looks undeniably Elfquestish and your most masculine character looks like a nancy-boy, consult your physician immediately.
