I hope I haven't miscontrued the purpose of this forum. I've been enjoying the articles here on CYD since my friend linked me two nights ago, then I saw this forum and figured it would be a good place to vent and unload.

Let me explain: I'm a moderator at a site known as DeviantART. And though my realm of expertise is anime, it and "anthro" are inexplicably lumped together, and so I have to deal with furries alot.

I've had to delete Sonic the Hedgehog orgies. Squirrels with giant dripping phalluses. But oh, you'd think I'd be desensitized by now. Until I started seeing VORE for the first time!!

But just as I started to get desensitized to inflation art (both in furry and human varities), in rolls vore. But I suppose when an artsite is THAT huge your bound to get a share of weirdos.

Hey Sai, yeah Vore is 6 shades of weirdness. There are worst things lurking in the corners of dA though :cry: I mean who wants to see Dulcy with Tail's stuffed up her....and I do mean literally....or perhaps Mighty and Ray having the ghey sexxors....still least you can delete those, can't you get these under them being a fetish?

I suggest for more dA horrors checking out the da_horrors group on livejournal, it's certainly an eyeopener... :shock:

Had to add: there's a lot of inflation artists on DA, too. And, from my experience, they can't tell when you're making fun of them until you spell it out.

Alot of them had alot to say about a comic I did about inflation art. :roll: One critizing artwork out of HUNDREDS OF THEIR CRAP and they go OMG DON'T MAKE FUN OF UUUUUUS and start getting all self-righteous.

Worst of all many of them tried to defend it by saying "you draw Fantasy art, whats the difference?". I think there's a big difference between drawing elves and angels and drawing women being foricbly filled with air for the sake of wank material :evil:

I still don't get where these people get their mindblowing unabashedness from. Shouldn't they be.. EMBARASSED to be showing drawings like that to the public? :?

Textbook difference between a fetishist and a normal person: a normal man can be attracted to a pregnant woman's femininity or the romantic notion of the strengthened bond between the man and the woman; a fetishist sees an air hose stuck up her ass and gets off on it.

I'm not familier with DeviantArt (well I know of it, not really about it). So what's the deal, are there no quality standards? I know there are some content standards, but I'm not sure what the're supposed to be exactly.

I always thought it was because it has art that "deviates from the norm," but a lot of people (hentai/fetishists) view it in a more naughty manner, particularly when they're bitching about having some crude piece of art taken down.

"The name of the site is deviantart, we should be able to upload as much porn as we want, despite there being eleven-year-olds on the site!"

Although, the appearance of porno ads (SuicideGirls.com) in DA's banners makes me wonder...

I'm not familier with DeviantArt (well I know of it, not really about it). So what's the deal, are there no quality standards? I know there are some content standards, but I'm not sure what the're supposed to be exactly.

Well no actually, DeviantART has alot of very specific rules surrounding copyright, certain types of content (you know, no blatant racism/hate-group shit, no photos of road-kill, no REAL self-mutilation/cutting, no images of human waste ect.) alot of specific rules on sexual imagry, but theres also the whole thing of not wanting to judge what is and isn't art (although everyone on the site has a seperate "Scrapbook" gallery for their work with questionable effort put into it, but enforcing that is tricky) and the site's too huge now to possibly say, go Elfwood and review every single thing that comes in.

Unfortuneately, most inflation art and stuff like that does not violate any of the rules surrounding sexual imagry, and since we do allow artistic nudes and somewhat erotic photography (as well as tame bondage photos) and such its not fair and balanced to crack down on inflation which has, just recently, become a fast-moving trend -__-

Well I'm actually an anime fan/-style artist. Not that I can say I like alot of the "new blood" in the anime fandom since the advent of Toonami. :? I mean we had our retards before, but they seem to be multiplying. But it only really SEEMS that way because all these 12-14 year old kids go "favorite happy" on anime-style images (and mainly fanart) so it ends up displayed in the "Daily Top Favorites" alot.

There's actually quite the sizeable Photograhpy and Digital Abstract crowd, as well as many traditional painters. Though most of it could indeed be labled as "Indy Art" when you get down to it. I mean we have our share of scribble babies and idiots, but there are also alot of great artists.

Urgh no shit. And they take it into the Forums. "Shouldn't DEVIANT Art be DEVIANT *snort nerd laugh*". Its like, get over it numbnuts, its just a name and a clever theme. It really means more "Indy Art". Or at best "Non-Classical".

I've actually never had a problem with vore. In fact, I used to RP over at the so-called "YumChat," until I stopped having fun due to the fact it became overrun with assholes. Now I don't really give vore too much thought, aside from one joke pic my girlfriend did where she ate me. :lol:

I really can't explain vore. It's really more bizarre than it is gross. Why would anyone want to be eaten by someone/something else? Even as a former vore, I couldn't really tell you because I never understood it myself.

Although, a friend of mine (who wasn't into vore) had an interesting theory; that it's like the ultimate form of domination for those that do the eating, and the ultimate form of submission for those who get eaten - willingly anyway; he didn't have even a half-assed theory about those who like to get eaten against their will. I assume it's something along the lines of a rape fantasy.

Essentially, vore is similar to snuff for the same reasons (ultimate domination, ultimate submission, etc.), but instead of being gutted or impaled (I'm talking to YOU, Eli the Bearded :evil:) or strangled, they're killed by getting eaten.

Then of course there's the ones who survive being consumed because the predator does not digest them... which kinda ruins my whole "vore is like snuff" theory... Oh, well.
