Damn man, I was hoping for hordes of blood thirsty animal characters all running around, screaming in agony as thier flesh melts under the heat from a BFG 9000.

Soooo disappointing. Especially all they done was slap posters up on the walls.

Now, if someone spent the time; they could make a Quake character skin that looked like a fursuit. And then you could frag fat fursuiting furry freaks.

I too was hoping the enemies were replaced. Once again the furries disappoint :(

I also recently started playing Quake and was shocked when I was killed by a Vore.

Im surprised people are still fucking with Doom.

Its too old that the graphics and gameplay is total shit to me now, and its not old enough that its nostalgic (like maybe .. i dunno, Space Invaders or Burgertime or something). Or maybe its that for games I feel this way about its cuz there is actually improved versions of essentially the same game.

Hell, even after playing HL2 its a little bit hard for me to play the original Half-life and expansions. All I can do is hope they come out with a whole bunch of HL2 expansions, or some people make some really cool mods.

(keep in mind I been playing Fallout 1 & 2 for the past 2 weeks, so its not like all I give a shit about is graphics and physics engines)

But doom still wins the only game where I really didn't want to open that door or heard and noise and did not want to find that Archvile. Plus thanks to ports like ZDoom i just run the game in a small window while on IRC.

Im the same way just on the other side of that, cuz I dont think I can play any FPS games anymore without the whole wasd+mouselook type controls. Like I can play Max Payne, Serious Sam, Alice, etc ... but I don't even like that whole 3rd person/over the shoulder camera thing.

I also cant deal with all the buttons and those analog sticks on all the new fangled console controller pads these days. I tried playing Halo on an Xbox at Electronics Boutique one time and it was high comedy. I dont think I even figured out how to move the character before I said fuck this and walked away. :)

I was also expecting to see the enemies redone as furries. Slapping furry porn on the walls is the lazy man's way to "yiffify" Doom, even for a furry.

Doom never held much interest for me. I played the first one through, but didn't really get in to the second. For the FPSs of the time, I was more partial to Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. The slightly later Outlaws was also enjoyable. I don't care for the FPS perspective these days. I prefer the 3rd-person perspective in stuff like Tenchu, Dynasty Warriors, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, etc. Part of it's from giving up on PC games and sticking with PS2.
