The junxtaposition of incest, violence, exhibitionism, promiscuity, and ultra-cute characters kinda adds up to an individual who's lost all grasp on "normal" sexuality. I have no problem with consenting adults, etc, but there's some obvious problems going on here, the least of which, as has already been pointed out, the concept that love isn't terribly important but constant screwing is. You can almost mentally write this author's psych report as you read the comics.

What's worse, he found a like-minded woman to, quite possibly, mate with. And a mother-in-law that doesn't mind reading aloud self referrential three-way porn with the kids. I'd be interested to know if there's ANYTHING that Katellis would consider too far gone, even for him.

Coming out of longtime lurk mode to say that while I always heartily enjoyed TNM's anti-Kit & Kay Boodle rants (he's a RL buddy), I tended to regard Katellis as little more than a mild nutter-- as New Meat has already pointed out, the sex in the comic is very vanilla.

Then I saw the mom-in-law cartoons. *cries* I think the most-- well, let me rephrase that. ONE of the most upsetting things about the comic was the fact that the mom is OMG so sad that her daughter and son-in-law sneak off to be alone together when they fuck. It takes a mom from the deepest pit of hell to be so clingy that she can't even bear to let her offspring have alone time for sex. Do they all take shits together, too??

This is Kit n' Kay frickin' Boodle we're talking about here. You can't really do a proper article on them without using some NWS images as examples. I at least take solace in the fact that unlike other web comics which start out okay and slowly spiral down, KnKB was fucked up from the beginning. Hey! I made a pun.

Well, I wasn't freaked about it in that sense, but I just assume the same level of caution as we're expected to uphold in the forums would also hold for the articles on the front page.

And before anyone (Rankin) says "OMG don't be a pussy, it's TEH INTARNET!", I'd like to point out I've seen everything on rotten.com, browsed PoE long enough to remember the 'My Self Castration' page, and used to contribute to the horror chamber that is VCL, so I'm not squeemish by far.

Subversive's fursuit article was a good example, in that it left the horrifyng images on a seperate page with a warning beforehand. Not that it really matters to me personally, but for others it might.

I think we've discussed Jack before. Jack is just an odd webcomic featuring oft-fucked up situations. We like to look at oft-fucked up webcomics. There's a subtle difference. Jack author David Hopkins is, to our knowledge, a pretty sane individual. The comic isn't fetishy (Nivlek), he doesn't get batshit political (Better Days), and he does a plot without detonating messily (KandK).

In general, Jack is just a decent comic with a niche audience and nothing to rip on. It'd be like 'scraping the bottom of the furry webcomic barrel'.

Hirtes: hell, minus a million if that is or isn't the same AmyStereo. Seeing that name is like seeing Bigfoot. I gotta assume it's a guy in a gorilla suit, because logically there's no way Bigfoot can exist in this day and age.

Wow...I read some of that comic and, while I've never used any drugs, I had the distinct feeling that comic is like doing acid with a sex offender support group. After a dozen or so episodes I got the creepy sensation the author was somehow able to look in my underwear drawer and drink directly out of my milk carton.

Boston and Shawn comes damn near close to furry, but it's got a subtler creepiness to it that, instead of making you actually throw up, leaves you with the feeling of nausea for an unnaturally long time. It's less direct, but perhaps as much, if not more uncomfortable than this Kit and Kay terror.

Um... I read a handful of the strips. I honestly can't decide whether it's just mind-numbingly lame or really, really horrible. But I'm inclined to agree with Dr. Mojo's description. Judging from the samples I read, there's something subtly but never the less very very twisted going on in that comic. The author seems to want to make middle-of-the-road family-friendly humour... and yet it just comes out wrong. This interesting incongruity would demand further scrutiny... but I don't want to read any more of it. I'd like to be able to sleep, and I know I won't be if I look too much at those utterly defective character designs and horrid colours. Gah.

I don't think that squirrel is albino, I think it's one of those squirrels that just has white fur, just like we have ones arround here that have all black fur (gorgeous little critters btw). They're the same species as the eastern gray ones, just with black or white fur.

Although saying the ermine became a squirrel is funny because ermine eat squirrels ;)

It would seem they also don't understand why some "crazy, self-loathing" people don't like it. Every time you say anything about the comic, they accuse you of not knowing the simple joy of sex or some such bullcrap.

What makes me sad is that they have to explain the symbolism and themes to everyone. I'm pretty sure those themes are damn well apparent to the world. It wouldn't even bother me that much if they weren't so damn pretentious about it.
