But, when it comes to exposing all things sick & sad about furry, there are no competitors. Only allies.

"a whole bunch of years ago i got molested online on furryMUCK when i was 12"

gimme a fuckin break

Most livejournal communities of this type aren't exactly anything to run home about. I remember seeing similar groups dedicated to fanfiction and hentai and such and they never really dug up anything I hadn't seen before.

This one's pretty nice though. They get points, they really do.

ya its not bad

just some of the posts like i said were a little on the melodramatic side

" people tried to TS me on the SonicMUCK...they KNEW how old i was...they KNEW...THEY KNEEEEEEEW *sob* "

ya, that may be true ..but bring it down a notch

i dunno,
with livejournal community you are guaranteed traffic, i guess through all the interest networking over there , but the quality of that traffic is not going to be top notch

ever since i first found out about livejournals...its the sort of thing where even if i liked someone who had one..i would still think keeping a public online diary is stupid

"blogging" your website with updates and stuff is one thing
posting a total breakdown of your hour/day/week for everyone to read and comment on is boring

ill give livejournal credit that they started a very successful trend and a widely used service ..

but i think with the internet, cheap webhosting, "reality tv", and now stuff like livejournal, they are all small steps towards Warhol's nightmare prophecy of everyone getting thier 15 minutes of fame.

OK, I've taken a look at the artwork on the site of these Burmecians, and it does seem to underline my point, rather than counter it.

no it proves MY point that theres tons of people out there who could have, WOULD HAVE been furries
but avoided the shit out of it for all kinds of reasons
plenty of which can found right on the front page of this site, in the articles / library sections
or the tv guide or livejournals or pretty much anywhere you look

Exactamundo.
Hell, look at the shit I post up on the internet. If furry was your typical loosely-amalgamated "we like cartoons for whatever reason" thing, I'd probably be perfectly fine hanging around with them. A little nerdy, but whatever. Now, on the other hand, there's no way in hell I'd want to hang around with the majority of the furry forums out there.

Hell, when you get freaks spontaneously deciding you must like animals in that way on the strength of your username and latching onto you for pity-hugs and whining about the mundanes, even when you're NOT hanging around on furry boards, most people would do the same.

i aint afraid of reputations or weirdos, where i have a huge problem most of the time is that its unfair to things that are very definatly 'furry' that ARE really good , and all the original guys that are still around, and all the people that are serious

there is stuff that could be produced by or from within the fandom that could end up being really really good and turning things around

i guess paul kidd is working on getting tank vixens turned into a cartoon , they got a 5 minute thing together so far that is sort of a promotional thing (not for public viewing right now...i dont think its done yet)

www.noogy.com this guys workin on a huge project that will be years before it is done

gallacci's still writing albedo stuff

there are a bunch of really good artists , professionals even
like ursula vernon

its totally fucked up that a large percentage of furries allowed thier fandom by tarnished by what started out as such a small minority of people

at any rate, i am only going to stick around furry for as long as the type of people i mentioned are there

but those sorts of things are the examples of why i think the fandom will either improve or divide

How did I put it? Another "Yes, I'm into THAT part of it but I'm not into THE OTHER part of it. Oh no, not at all." Now it looks like YOU are doing that. Definitely too much protesting.

uhm what seems to be the problem ?

if you are saying what i think youre saying then ....no shit

i AM into the 'comic books' part of furry fandom

i AM NOT into the Alt.Lifestyle.Furry fucking weirdo part

to be honest i dont see how those fucks figured they had any business in furry

how can i be protesting too much ?
too late? probably

but the reason lifestylers and other fucked up defectives took over the fandom is because there WASNT ENOUGH PROTEST WHEN IT HAPPENED

actually your right swipecat...since you obviously know the truth theres not point in hiding it anymore...
because i couldnt fuck Freya Crescent ...
I FUCKED THE DOG INSTEAD

youre such a dork

It's about like being in the heavy metal scene, and showing interest towards 80's hair metal and meanwhile heavily disliking and disassociating oneself from norwegian black metal and satanism. As in completely normal and proof of relative taste. (relative as 80's metal is utterly tasteless)

I accidentally lost interest in everything related to furry in early september (although i was only interested in drawing furry characters) and am not a bit disappointed.

The last sentence was completely pointless, although an attempt at avoiding being called hypocritical in future posts.

If lifestylers were merely kooky it would be one thing. But nooooo...

I've got certain spiritual beliefs and have experienced certain deep things which can't be explained by anything known to science currently. I DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO SUDDENLY "GET THE RELIGION" Heck, I'd be more comfortable if you were uninterested or skeptical or whatever. YOU weren't there at the time.

Furry lifestylers make it a referendum on your tolerance as to whether or not you not only accept their invented faith but practice it and are willing to turn on everything you believed up until they regaled you with their beliefs.

It isn't enough for them that you tolerate their ideas and live and let live. No, you have to join them. This is only tolerance if you consider the edict of the Spanish crown to Jews that they convert to Catholicism or face inquisition tolerance.

I'm sorry, but while I'm willing to let you live on your own believing whatever it is about being a witch or some such silly thing, I don't feel like wearing baggy flare leg black jeans from Hot Topic and declaring myself a Wiccan. And while you think you're a hypogryph or whatever reborn in the wrong body or whatever, that's fine. Don't expect me to join the parade of worshippers.

But we are expected to. Demanded to. Derided as inferiour and unthinking if we don't. Given who is deriding me, I take it as a badge of honor.

Heh. Wayd, you DO demand that everyone gets your religion and you've been doing your damnedest to inflict it on as many as possible. I could point to any one of your recent vast screeds of raging nonsense in aff. Extreme lifestylers and extreme reactionaries are just two sides of the same coin. You're gonna have a breakdown if you continue the way you are.

so why is it that you do everything in your power to allow "extreme lifestylers" to have a fucking free for all with no criticism
if, to you, they are just as bad as the "other side of the coin"

also funny:
you never answered that second email i sent you

you hammer the point all the time then when i ask you for a much more in depth explanation - i dont get one

I've yet to see Wayd or you try to tackle any extreme lifestylers. All Wayd does is mess up the anthropomorphics forum.

As for your second email, I thought you were being rhetorical. I'll answer it now.

They don’t have a free for all.
People who claim that they have dragon souls and stuff, will get mocked where ever they go, by just about anyone.
Swipecat doesn’t have to do anything at all; “extreme lifestylers” as you put it, can sometimes be their own worst enemies.
But the same is also true of the anti-lifestlers etc.
