I like 'em and all, but I think some could do with a little explanation. (Maybe I'm just ignorant but who's this Jim fellow?) Is there any way we could get some artist's commentary or something to go along with them?

i dont know him personally

but he does those red shetland comics and 'west corner of the park'

from what i gather hes a prick and a gun nut

"Jim" is Jim Groat, creator of "Red Shetland" and "West Corner of The Park". He's into guns and WWII memorabilia. For the curious, he's in this photo.

Okay, now I'm pissed off. For the past few days, the various email lists, LJ usergroups, etc. that I'm on have been bombardede by pleas from a moo that various members of the said lists volunteer to watch her spawn while her husband is at a comic-book convention in Seattle (As a side note, duh lost his minimum-wage job earlier this year because he was taking the equivalent of TWO FUCKING MONTHS off a year to go to these things, but I digress...) No suggestion of compensation of any kind, just a virtual demand that some brave souls spend a total of three days looking after her sproggen: the older of the two made a name for himself at an early age for punching people in the nuts, and the younger is less than a year old! What really infuriates me is this moo's expectation that as a part of 'the community' we're gonna willingly sacrifice what little free time we have (I personaly work 52 hours a week, MINIMUM)so that she (in her own words) "can burn as few vacation days as possible." Gee Mrs. Moo, I'm _SO_ fucking glad that your needs are more important than those of the rest of us... "
