This little Lukadia vs. Banrai whatever dumbassery at least reminded me of (other than the fact Kagerou sucks) Maddox's little Goth spiel.

Maddox!

Which offered me a further epiphany. I knew I'd read that hate mail someplace different, somewhere with a different author, sometime other. Replace the term 'Gothic' with the name of any sequestered little subculture, right, perhaps your favorite one, and it's still all so true.

When they're not getting their asses kicked, they're busy getting drunk and having sex with dead animals.

So very close indeed.

I worship Maddox, and if he told me to burn all my furry porn, I WOULD burn it onto a CD!

Yes, the concept of conforming to a different label to be an individual has to be one of the longest running idiotic tendancies in the human race.

It's actually funny, but everyone's least favorite pony stumbled upon this same blatant truth.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/xydexx/441771.html

However, he can't quite link the concept of confromist ideals and furry fandumb.

$subculture = 'otherkin';
Properly, maybe, it should have been $SUBCULTURE to be better denoted as a variable, but all caps looks really dumb in a post subject.

you dont know what theyve been through <...> people make a diffence standing up for what they believe they dont need cock suckers like you putting them down!!!

I know, I know, I've been there before. And right there, most recently. It's not the blind assertion of truth that leads to idiotic conformity. It's the need to defend the conformity. We've seen this ludicrous assertion of persecution from quite a few people now. This 'you don't know what it's like' - hell, I get this from my webmaster, which is the reason I'm moving my trash off FurCen. It's all batshit stupid. People who take a hobby, call it a lifestyle, and pretend teh mundane nazis will beat them up behind the dumpsters for it. Maddox knows how to reply to that. You aren't special. You're no 'tortured artist'. You're just a dumbass asking for attention.

Yeah, 'subcultures' are pretty stupid. In highschool I was in the group of people too weird to hang with the normal freaks. (goths, punks, etc.) But when I really think about it, it wasn't anything more than a little clique of people who didn't fit in anywhere. We weren't preps, jocks, rednecks, goths, nerds, emo kids, punks or skaters or anything, really. - It's kinda obvious I wouldn't know much about this kind of stuff, I've never tried to fit in.

Yeah, I can edit my posts too, Rankin.

I'm an externally-proclaimed Computer Geek; I don't really know if "computer geek" is in itself a subculture, but I can tell you for damn sure it's incompatible with your basic "Jock->Prep->Goth->Loser" groupings. I stuck with the other computer geeks of the school (All 4 of'em) in the room of a computer geek teacher so we can do all our internetting without worries. If someone were to say, "You're just like all the other computer geeks" I wouldn't even try to defend my position of being original because I know I'm not. I'm just glad I never befriended the furries of the school (All 2 of'em) lest I catch 'teh ghey.'

I believe Marshal McLuhan once said:
"Charisma is conformity"... or something along those lines. I you think about it, it's true. People use their conforminty, or ability to get others to conform, and make/take power from that.

"individuals run for cover,
for the multitudes of thoughtless clones have reached a critical mass,
individuals hide in fear, under cover,
sheltered by the wafer thin veil of intelligence

individuals, nowhere to be seen" - Bad Religion

But yeah subcultures can be neat. I was part of the car culture for a while, though never felt pursecuted about it.

Quite on the contrary are european goth bands which don't sell shit. Aren't "hip" goth kids listening to HIM nowadays in the US? It's mainstream here in finland, of course being a finnish band and all.

Is HIM the heartgram thing? The only person I know who ever listened to them was an utter faggot about it. He bought clothes from goodwill and scribbled their lyrics all over them and drew the heartgram on every single fucking homework paper he ever did. On top of writing "HIM" on his knuckles every day.

Any 'culture' that goes out of it's way to be different, and being quite touchy when others jeer... but enough about furry.

Yup, the same thing. I kinda like their music. Soft and rocking, easy to listen. Not too massive like the stuff I make. Guys aren't really that fannish on HIM around here as it's kind of, well, gay to be a hardcore fan of a soft rock band in finland. This is a hockey country with a testosterone-laden culture anyway. :P
