Also, how is it that he draws people and they still manage to look furry?

Edit: Is this comic supposed to be about Jay's service in the Gulf or something?

What!? there are black people who honourably fight for their country!? I never realised this until Naylor pointed it out. Sure, only 20% of the Iraq forces are black, but it was so lucky Teresa and Shafer managed to insult possibly the only black guy on base cause, hey, there was a 80% chance that they wouldn't have. Thanks to those lucky odds, we have learnt a valuable lesson today. Consider my eyes open.

Gotta love any white Republican who tries to make out he's "hip" to black people even though if, say, Chris Rock read Naylor's comic he'd call him a stupid whitebread ass-cracker.

Let's be realistic. Chris Rock wouldn't need to actually read the comic to know that. I mean, just look at Jay. His face gives it all away.

Honestly, the art is no worse than some of the stuff I've seen published by Antararctic Press, but...well, I hate Jay Naylor, so I'm just going to say it sucks and be done with it.

This is what happens when you draw far to many furries for your own good and then try to draw "icky hyoomans". A similar condition has happened with our own poster boy Eric Dubya Schwartz.

Not that there's anything wrong with drawing anthro animals of course ... if you can draw them well, that is.

It's not absolutely wretched, considering how most 'hyoomans' turn out when drawn by furry artists. I can't 'tell what animals they would be' if they were anthro, and the similarity seems mainly due to the sloe-eyed features and slightly x-treme look he gives his characters.

I bet that they look like furreis just because you expect everythin drawn in Jays style to be furry. If you hadn't seen any Jays stuff in the past you would just note that the artist has problems with drawing heads... and some other parts.

I'd say that that is drawn well enough for a web-comic. As for content, I didn't boether to read it more than few lines.

(ps. I bet that the black guy will sacrifices himself in order to save the woman.)

I recall the original CYD article comparing Naylor's style to anyone else who got into the whole "American anime" look after The Boondocks got big (and I think someone else pointed that out too). Everyone in his comics has the slanted-eyes-even-when-you're-happy look.

But when you think about it, that's not a fair comparison. The reason being that The Boondocks is actually funny and worth reading.

It's strange, Jay and Gonterman seem to have similar beginnings to their right-wing nutter beliefs. Both of their "works" contain scenes of high school teachers of varying ethnic and political viewpoints that the arteests felt persecuted by. Gonterman's fear of Gays is well established in his auto-biographical portrayals of characters mocked as gay in the high-school social system. I wonder if Jay's weirdly homophobic/homoerotic fixation has a similar origin.

I think the closest thing Gonty has ever gotten to actual sex in a story has been the imfamous mention of "Clinton Jobs" in NiTRO and one very brief allusion in the original Foxfire.

Nice to see my "you have to be insane to be right wing AND a furry" theory is still holdin' up.

I noticed, though, that primarily drawing human or anthro characters makes you suck at the other. Y'draw humans well, and your anthros look not-so-good, and vice versa. The attempts at humanity done by Schwartz and Naylor are a good example. The two kinds of characters just have so many nuances that perfecting one screws you out of drawing the other. Personally, I can draw humans just fine, but I can't draw a basic anthro worth crap.

Though, there are lotsa people who can do both, and they deserve 5-point stickers.
