Long story short. Some guy in the philadelphia community on LJ wants to protest anthrocon. It was short and brief and , more obvious, a joke. How many pages of livejournal did you think this went through from other furries?

Currently, the count is over 400 replies...maybe 500 if you count all three hotspots. If you have a lot of free time (or just have no life) feel free to glance over a few of these as THE FURRIES TAKE ON THE MUNDANES OF PHILLY!

Perhaps you should take the time to actually EDUCATE yourself about what furries actually are instead of ignorantly protesting something you don't like. Anthropomorphism has been with man since he walked upright. Long before Judeo-Christians walked this earth, mankind aspired to animal aspects. I think it's rather sad how modern furries are treated, considering our interests predate almost any belief system out there.

Furry porn predates almost any belief system?! Also, I think dreamtigress turned anthropomorphism upside-down. It's not about aspiring to animal aspects, but about ascribing human traits to animals that have none.

Here's what I'm expecting from that CYD thing - Three or four sullen CYDers in hostile black T-shirts trying to look like something other than pudgy, hetero nerds. Fifteen furries trying to screw with them, scritching them, bouncing around in fursuits, etc. Of those fifteen, one or two with boundary issues tries to do something intimidating or threatening and be the BIG FURRY HERO. This leads to con security breaking it up. The whole thing is lovingly documented by CYD and spread for amusement for months to come.

I agree with what you're saying about the CYDers probably sitting around and sulking for most of the con. But I don't think you're quite hearing what I'm actually suggesting here. I still think there's wisdom in doing a little propaganda to encourage other furs to see their presence isn't really such a big deal.

Would it be BAD to suggest some folks with cameras go on a "CYD SAFARI" and attempt to photograph the bitter ex-fen lurking about. With web page to follow?

I mean, honestly. BAD?

Nah, that wouldn't be bad. I mean, if someone were to put up a photo gallery of CYD dweebees with a bunch of snarky commentary, they'd think it was hilarious. Previous experience has shown us that these guys never take the internet seriously, so of course they would never fly of the handle and wig out if someone gave them a taste of their own medicine... -;)

I think the best defense is getting the Fluffy Masses to understand that getting huffy and indignant is exactly the wrong thing to do.

Oh my, they are learning. :) There's alot of other things they need to learn but if they would adhere to simple little things like this there wouldn't be a need for CYD. It's amazing how furries can't take a little critique and will treat even places like CYD like the great enemy. Laughing at yourself is a dying art.

Xydexx sure gets around... it's starting to get to the point where I can identify him without even looking at poster name in a furry drama thread.

Shocking, I know. But they are going there, not for some Something Awful-esque comedy gold, but to most likely to buy furry porn and art and/or hangout with thier furry friends, JUST LIKE YOU ARE. If they scrounge up some freak pics or whatever, more power to them.

Im pretty confident in asserting that whatever purposes Postvixen and crew thought these people would be attending for, are dead wrong. In case you guys haven't gotten the point already, there is no need for CYD to do some furry-con expose. It migth be funny but, by far, the worst shit posted to the internet regarding furry fandom isnt done by some kind of secret agent infiltrators, but by furries themselves.
