Albedo #2 cgc 9.8

Winning bid: US $1,280.00 (Reserve met)

Description
Stunning copy!! Highest cgc graded copy!!
With only 2000 copies printed, this book is EXTREMELY difficult to locate in ANY condition - and virtually IMPOSSIBLE to locate in high grade, such as this example. This is by far the best known example, the only 9.8 with no 9.6s and a few 9.4s on the census. Simply a stunning book with no spine stress whatsover. My reserve is FAR too reasonable. Any spots are on the case and not on the book. The book itself is the deepest, deepest black. My scanner does not handle black well but trust me when I say that the actual book looks like the dead of night. Looks completely unread!! Jet black spine will make finding another 9.8 truly next to impossible. I sincerely hate to let it go.

now im kicking myself for not throwing down $150 for this when it went on furbid a month or 2 ago
(granted that wasnt a 9.8..but overall Albedov1#2 is still hard as hell to get)

Hey there, wasn't that character in an TMNT episode a few years back?

yea, its Usagi Yojimbo, his first appearance ever...that mainly whats driving the price like that (coupled with its low print run)

i mean $1200 is REALLY high for this comic
(i think its lists somewhere about $100-$200)
but the simple fact , like the guy said, the jet black spine DOES virtually guarantee there is no other 9.8 or higher in the world

you almost ALWAYS get fracture/stress marks near the staples..
not to mention
copies of albedo i have and have seen always seemed kicked on ..dunno why

i may get my Adventures of Captain Jack #1 CGC rated, because when i bought the thing through mile high , and i took it out of the box, i was shocked at how pristine it was...i was afraid to even open it ..
the pages and cover are perfectly square, super-bright white, and there isnt even so much as a ding or crease or anywhere on it that i could see..theres no stress lines near the staples or anything (its same deal, mostly black cover so you can see easily if there was)

it may be a 9.6-9.8 somewhere in there..maybe higher who knows..i dont grade comics

also my critters #1 was also WAY up there, till the fucking cat stepped on it when it was on the top of a stack and she dug her claws in when the stack started to tip
now its got 3 nice dings in the cover
