I joined this forum to see just what the hell was in the minds of people who vehemently hate all furries, and frankly, those haters scare me just as much as babyfurs do. Well, maybe not as much. The diaper thing is still fucking wierd.

It's too bad that many posters here have either forgotten the CYD "about" statement, or in the case of some newer posters never having read it altogether. There hasn't been a good example set here recently - it's been getting out of hand lately.

But AnotherFuckingFurry should realise that there's a difference between being disillusioned and disgusted with the fandom as opposed to having a sole purpose of bashing it in order to feel popular. I doubt that any of the long time members are absolute blowhards who have a complete malevolence toward the entire fandom. Sometimes we vent - a natural reaction for us when we see something so ridiculous and disturbing like babyfurs or bestialists. But that's because some of us feel it's things like that which ruined the fandom for us. Getting out our frustrations with like-minded people can be good, but perhaps sometimes a few people here may go a little overboard.

Maybe AnotherFuckingFurry caught us when we were not at our best, but he shouldn't be painting all of us with the same brush of being EAF style blowhards.

I didn't know him too well, but I saw ZenZhu as a model poster. His posts always had something interesting and important to say. They weren't a one line "HAY LOOK! ALL CAPS! AIN'T THAT FUNNY?" type of retard-o post.

I don't post too much nowadays, because I prefer reading what others have to say. And some of you have very interesting opinions on the matter.

It pains me to follow some of the more recent threads. They're a mess.

Here's what I want from threads: I'm interested in your diagnosis on what makes most furries a bunch of freakish oddballs. Your opinions interest me, cause furries amuse me in a freak show carnival kind of way and I like hearing other people's pop-pscyhological take on when they're so fucking insane/a bunch of crybabies. So, please, for the sake of your old pal Goofy and the moderators' sanities, please write more insightful posts. Leave your crap at home.

I honestly and seriously believe that this 'fursecution' complex is the main reason a lot of people still make fun of furries. For example, SA goons had a field day with furries because they got so incredibly riled up by nothing more than a simple joke. There's no way to instantly change people's minds to what you believe, and going to other people's sites and trying always ends in horrible, horrible disaster. It doesn't matter how rational, logical, and intelligent your argument is presented: The problem of many furs isn't that they don't know what they're doing or don't understand the psychological reasons and costs of what their doing - they do what they like without regard for others or their feelings, and they want to feel good about it. They'll make up whatever BS is necessary and call in reinforcement from clones, er I mean, "friends".

A couple random netizens may be persuaded one way or another via the methods you describe but in the long run, conventional fighting here would take years, and cost millions of lives.

Once again: Criticizing and laughing at something does not equal hating it. Personally, I certainly don't hate furries. They supply me with free entertainment, and that's a good thing. And like it's been said, CYD is basically a humour site. If you take what's happening on the CYD main site and/or the CYD forum seriously, you've missed the point. This is a forum for (mostly humourous) discussion and having a laugh, not a politbureau, and we don't plan on neither saving nor destroying furry fandom.

First, it's not hating. It's more like the way one treats an unemployed, alcoholic sibling. You're openly scornful of the way they've fucked up their lives, but deep down you truly pity them, because you know how they could have turned out. But there's nothing you can do for your alcoholic brother or furrydom, because in both cases the first step is admitting you have a problem.

Second, arguing doesn't do any good, as has been pointed out already. Better men than us have tried.

Thirdly, why should we have to go to all the trouble of going onto their turf and justify ourselves? The dog fuckers are the ones who should be over here doing the justifying. They're perfectly welcome to come into this forum and defend themselves in person. They're not going to get banned so long as they can conduct themselves in a civilized manner. It's pretty obvious that bans have nothing to do with the arguments themselves.

Hell, CigarSkunk hasn't been banned yet, despite all the pointing and laughing.
