Read the subject, fool.

Seriously though, I've been trying to think of something that I could write as an article (the site needs some new ones). Any help would be appreciated.

You could try so called "mind mapping".
Maybe one of the keywords you put to paper inspires a subject.

I have topic that interested me for the past few months but is far to petty for an article: "The dogmatic does and donts of furry art".

I always thought an article about Ray Jones would be hilarious. Although there's not much to say about him other than that he's bugfuck insane.
How about a peice on furry fans?
And I don't mean the typical furry.
I mean FANS of a particular furry, you know...EWS Fans, RTR fans, ect.
Goth furries?
anti-CYD furries?
Fursecution?
2?
Sibe?
...Eh, I don't know. I'm just tossin' shit out there.

I was thinking about doing an article called "Deconstructing Zigzag". The title speaks for itself. All I need is the time to research and write the durn thing.

You'd have to be pretty heavy-handed with the satire as you go into detail about her troubled childhood, or else people will mistake it for a serious piece.

Wait, I take that back. I think it would be funnier if everyone mistook it for something legitimate. The mass confusion on various furry boards over why CYD would post a serious in-depth look at Zig-Zag would be worth it.

i was considering a mini furry dictionary because random people who join seem to ask what otherkin and things are a lot. The first on the list was Alt.Fan.Furry so I went out to find an image.

Well, if you promise to be completely objective about it....

Why not a review of Ozy and Millie?

The biggest problem I see with that is that the overall purpose of CYD, at least, as far as I can tell, is to showcase the bizarre, the absurd, and the what-the-fuck factors of Furry Fandom. Ozy & Millie is a cool non-fetishy comic, and AFAIK, Simpson isn't an otherkin, a lifestyler, a babyfur, etc. And if he is, he doesn't go around forcing it down other peoples' throats.

The articles also tend to have a high-lulz factor, often due to the rediculous nature of the person/comic/event the article is about. And although O&M makes me chuckle out loud on occasion, there's really nothing extrordinary about the comic or its creator that would make for an entertaining and interesting article.

Why not review a few sucky furry webcomics that got a reader's favorite on the belfry index ?
http://www.belfry.com/comics/index.php
Click "furry" and "Reader' faves" on top of the page.Or look at the "most read".
Maybe there is one or two among them who are interesting enough for an article.
Was there already an article on furry webcomics in general ?

Well, that's ONE thing we see eye-to-eye on.

Yeah, I'm scared, too.

how about my thoery about porn artists that draw disgustingly anatomically correct animal penises. It could be titled "Furry or Zoo? The Dog Cock connection"

It'll never happen but i seriously thing that people that draw that kind of anatomy do so because they are attracted to real animals/look at bestiality.

I do like Ozy and Millie, although the WE'RE LIBERALS DAMMIT thing gets old fast. I dig Simpson's political cartoons, because then he feels no need to be subtle about his opinions. And he draws Dubya in an amusing way.

I vote otherkin. They fascinate me endlessly with their weird religon and their militant, tough guy attitude. Which usually translates into making a mean post about the enemy on their livejournal, but the sentiment is there.

Articles on non-furry crazy will be considered, or at least articles only tangentially related to furries.

We need to branch out a little.

I agree here. Ozy and Millie is pretty interesting but the political stuff is tired.
However, I LOVE this idea:

Personally I think it's never a good idea to write anything just for the sake of writing something. Unless there's some kind of inspirational enthusiasm the project may come out dull or something. But since we're just throwing suggestions out there I think interviewing someone would be neat.

And since Computolio himself has said so, branching out could be a good thing. Now I'm thinking an interview of someone who draws anthros but isn't really in the fandumb would be interesting, someone like Mark Bode or whatever. And yeah I think the LOL-factor is important for this place.

I've been having an idea of a guide for furries in surviving the real world which would mainly consist of "how not to be creepy."

Maybe an explanation on some of the non-sex related things that furries seem to care about?

It seems that a lot of them have a problem with other people drinking. I don't understand why a fandom that generally focuses on a fetish would have all these people who hate alcohol, but support other drugs.

It's cuz they all got beaten up by drunken jocks in highschool. Then took psychadelics to escape the pain of it all. Alcohol makes people mean!

Heres a good idea. Do one on fursecution. What the furries percieve as fursecution and whether there has ever been cases of REAL fursecution like an animator getting fired over furry porn or someone running for congress and getting his furry past exposed to the public. Beatings, whatever.

I've GOT it!

How about an absolutely scathing, mercilessly cruel review of one of Phurrae Phandumb's most sacred cows?

"Disney's Robin Hood"!

I swear, Peter Ustinov was the ONLY good thing about that uninspired piece of celluloid tripe.

This could be pretty amusing, especially if it was under the guise of a serious writing. I'd say do it.

I was thinking about doing it OMGJeremy-style with pictures.

Have no idea what the reference is you refer to, but be careful with the pics because they could make or break the humor.
