Googling west corner of the park (no "s) I did not get WCotP. However, something concerned with Xydexx (in which no mention of WCotP was made) was on the first page.
Which was odd.
Also, the WikiFur entry for Jim Groat doesn't have a link to the WikiFur entry for WCotP. Real nice editing, guys.
PS: Groat's WikiFur entry says his FurryMUCK name is "Rabbi_Tom" or something... If that's true, wouldn't it go kinda oddly with his seeming affection for WWII German militaria? |

If you've read an episode or two of WCotP, you'd know that Groat has a Jewish Kangaroo character named Rabbi (all other times he draws himself as a goat). And yes, this probably goes oddly with Groat's Nazi memorabilia fetish, but it's one of the things that contributes to the man's character insanity. |

Believe it or not, Groat's character on FurryMuck isn't a kangaroo. He's supposed to be an aarkvard. |

Jewish Kangaroo character named Rabbi
Was that just a random strip starring the character or did you purposely select the lamest/corniest/most pointless one you could find? Cuz that is absolutely aweful. No wonder the french punked him if he writes like that. HAHA1 mozus :?

Dear god, the hallmark of a terrible furry artist, species ambiguity. I would like to sock the guy that told me my drawings look like his. :|

I don't get it. Moses doesn't have anything to do with Easter. The whole point of getting Moses chews on Easter is the most illogical premise for a comic ever. Even if you're a Jewish kangaroo. |

Sure it's lame and illogical; it's in-jokes you won't get if you're not part of Groat's circle of online friends. Haven't you read The New Meat's article on WCotP? |

An aardvark? Geez. I wouldn't have guessed that from looking at the strip. Then again, I'm not on FurryMuck and can't "look" at these characters first hand. Of course TNM's article said "Jewish kangaroo" so I assumed his guess was as good as any.

Actually, I just chose a the most recent strip to prominently feature the Rabbi character. Turns out that it was also one that made a pointless attempt at a Jewish joke. Teh win. |

You're not missing anything, trust me. Groat has become the biggest whining sack of crap around and I honestly think that the only reason he's pretending to be Jewish is that he's got a couple of Jewish babes on FM he likes to bed. Or at least he can't keep his hands off of them.
And we wonder why his wife hates him? Hell, I'd have him too. |

Rabbi_Tom is currently a lusitano stallion. One guesses he swaps between them because he draws them exactly the bloody same.
Who'da guessed? |

A fun prank would be for several people to request individual private commissions from him... Every commission would be of a similar animal, similar pose, etc.
Private, so not posted on his site.
Then the commissioners could go over them and see if he cut any corners by maybe using the same base for the images, or whatever. |

The only problem with that is that i would have to pay money for his vomit on paper. If i did that i would have to kill myself. |

That is a good point.
He'd probably spend it on Stahlhelms or something. |

I adore that Xydexx's name shows up in the most obscure things that hardly even have anything to do with him.
Especially since besides his lack of a life outside of furry and his retarded opinions on furry, he is memorable for absolutely nothing else ever. |

Results 1 - 10 of about 21,400 for xydexx
You'd think that he would have at least begun a failure of a furry webcomic or something by now.
With all of my online names combined I only have about 10 Google mentions, covering about 5 years. SERIOUSLY WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE |

Well, you should start by getting a livejournal and being friended by a lot of people. Then start posting on newsgroups. Also get your name included in the most popular IRC stats generation program. It worked for me!
You have to remember that xydexx is head of Publications for Anthrocon. It's his job to get the word out, and generally his name is attached to that word as the poster. |

Sir, are you implying that Xydexx gets mentioned a lot on google just because he's Grand Wizard of Anthrocon and not because he spends a great deal of his free time bobbing furrydumb's collective knob? |

No, I'm implying that he may perhaps have led a more public life than you, to this moment. :-)
Just being a prominent member of the fandom is a part of it, though - a lot of the people on google mention him in passing, like: "oh, I saw xydexx at Camp Feral". |

Some people in the fandom are shameless self promoters. Others are popular on LJ, but then again a fair bit of the people who are really popular on it are pricks like 2, Posty or Manawolf.
If you want e-popularity, you're either a person who shamelessly self promotes your only trick (*Cough* Osfer), or just an attention whore. Why bother? |

Speaking as a shameless promoter of WikiFur, it's because there was something I wanted to happen (in this case, the creation of an encyclopedia for the use and furtherance of the furry fandom) and I couldn't do it alone. Others may have other reasons.
I would note that 2 has to be something of an attention whore; as a comedian, he essentially makes money from being popular (or at least controversial). Manawolf is probably "e-popular" more because of the people who don't support her more than the people who do. Posty I don't know of, so maybe they're not as e-popular as you think. :-) |

He's no Howard Stern, regardless of what he thinks.

Manawolf has 227 LJ friends, thusly she followed your advice on going on LJ and getting friended a lot. E-popularity and e-infamy at once. And "Posty" is short for Postvixen. Thanks though, I know you're just trying to offer advice, but it really all does seem a bit like hogwash to me. |

Well, I don't see how it can be hogwash if it works . . . granted, there are side-effects in some cases! It's very hard to be universally popular, and most people don't make the effort (usually it's not worth it even if you can).
Oh, and thanks for the info! Your distinctiveness has been added to our own. |

I'm just saying popularity, especially internet based fandom popularity, isn't the greatest thing on Earth. Although, yeah, we can all dream.
I still haven't seen an article on myself at Wikifur, and I assume this is a good thing. |

Yes, was just referring to the nickname. Given that you don't want to be popular in the furry fandom, it probably is a good thing. I found this google search quite amusing, though. :-) |

Passover. Jewish holiday about Moses, I'm pretty sure.
But that's still got nothing to do with Easter. Passover and Easter honour two completely different things. So I still don't see what Moses has to do with Easter since he wasn't even alive during Christ's crucifixion.
Likewise, I still don't think Moses chews is a good premise for Passover. Why not Moses-shapen Matzo a la the shape of a gingerbread man?
And even if the comic made the allusion to Passover (which it doesn't, cause he got his shit from the "Easter Rabbi"), it still wouldn't be funny. That much is certain. |

Anyone can instantly become popular in the furry fandom if they just:
1)never shut up online, ever
2)like themselves a whole lot
Manawolf in all of her gross glory is an example of this, just like Postvixen and everyone else you mentioned. Being furry-popular isn't something that I envy. |

In the mind of a stereotypical furry, trolls = anyone who disagrees with my infallible point of view...
And wanting to be e-popular is nothing more than a cry for social skill building help. :> |
