2) Spread the word among the inmates, who more than likely have kids of their own, that the bastard is a pedophile.

Jessica's law was passed in Florida, this law makes 25 yrs+ a minimum for child molesters.

Not a bad idea, but it only works if you fill the bottom of the shaft with water and either hungry aligators or sharks.

I really think it all depends on the situation. Personally I think 17+13 is WAY creepy. When I was 17 I dated a 23 year old and I was completely ill equiped to deal with an actual adult relationship. I really can't say if other people are better equipped at what ages but I think 18 is certainly a reasonable age for consent (though in some cases 18 is still a bit young to appriciate the gravity of ones actions).

As far as dealing with child molesters I believe the best recipie is as follows.
Begin with concave hemispherical pit (greased), add a good number and
assortment of double-edged razorblades, thumb-tacks, broken glass,
etc. to pit.
Toss in child-molester.
Equip victim/victim's family with pressure washer loaded with isopropyl
alcohol.
Baste attacker liberally.
