Now, I may have mentioned before that I frequent Yiffstar as well as this site. I get a Hell of a lot of people messaging me from there, seeing as how I'm female and reasonably attractive. Most people who've messaged me have been very kind, and I've made two very good friends there. Unfortunatly, I'm not always this lucky.
Enter last night. I was browsing the net like a good little loser when suddenly I got a notice from AIM that a new person was attempting to message me. The screen name was a fairly bland furry one, so I clicked accept. This person was in search of a mistress, and he found me. It got stranger.
He said he was a "toddlerfur" and if that made me uncomfortable he'd be happy to role play in teen form. Although one of my friends told me off for encouraging bad behaviour, I'd never spoken to a real live babyfur before so I said I had a few questions for him. Happily, he agreed to answer.
One: Did he actually wear diapers offline? He corrected me, saying he wore pull-ups which were quite different.
Two: How old was his teen form? Thirteen...which happened to be his actual real life age. I was startled, I'd never met a babyfur that young.
My question to you, people of CYD, is this: Is it creepier because he's thirteen or saner considering he's not adult enough to be truly pedo? I can't make up my mind.

Any thirteen year old babyfur? Well, makes sense, following the age progression of both him and his 'fursona', he'll be an 18 year old wolf or something with a hungry ass when in reality he's a 30 something slob.

The solution, I think is to not frequent yiffstar. There are other outlets for furry fiction.

I... Honestly wouldn't believe him if he said he was 13 years old. As a rule of thumb you should always add a minimum of five years to get up to their actual age. If they're blatant furries, add twenty. This way has served me well through the years as a citizen of the intarweb.

Well, the majority of the people there (the ones I've met) are actually quite amicable. It's TwistedDragon and his ilk that make that place pretty scary. Plus, I role play a lot. I know, I know, I'm a dumbass XD

Creepier. Definitely creepier. Run, do not walk, run away. If for no other reason than this: assuming he is 13 (As others pointed out, this is probably not the case, but it's a lose-lose situation) and looking for a mistress? No good can come of that. At all.

Pull-ups are NOT different than diapers. They're just defective diapers that won't stay on, so THE MAN decided to market them as some sort of toilet training accessory that babies can take on and off at will. Which is, of course, stupid, because if they can take off their diapers whenever they want to, they will.

If he's actually trying to make himself off as somehow superior because he wears pull-ups as opposed to actual working diapers, he's beyond help. Fuck him. But please tell him to use cloth diapers instead, they're much more earth friendly.

He's actually right here. I tried feeling sorry for a guy I knew. Also a babyfur, in fact. They are beyond help, because they don't want help. You can throw a drowning man a rope, but what can you do if he doesn't take it? That's the situation here.

If you really want a peek into the myriad psychological disorders at work here, and don't have any compunctions against callously using him for this sole purpose, go right ahead. But anything else and you're just throwing your empathy into a black hole.

13. 13. That'd be what, 7th grade? Jeez, AH, you can really pick a winner. Joking aside, I am not a child psychologist, and I'm guessing you aren't either. But I figure what he needs are friends. Real friends. Friends his age that aren't just online friends.

Neither of us can fill that role, is what I'm saying, and if you must help him, steer him towards being offline. Looking online for "teh unf unf unf" is not exactly good at that age.

What he needs is to drum up the courage to get his parents/guardian involved, to see a behaviourist, even sidestepping the babyfur thing, but just to ensure he becomes a socially functioning and productive member of society.

Don't feel bad for these losers, that's why they are the way they are. Everyone feels sorry for them and nobody has the guts to stand up, tell them they're freaks and losers and in need of serious long-term psychotherapy. If you tiptoe around afraid to offend these idiots, they're never going to get better. Someone needs to smack them upside the head with a clue-by-four and tell them to grow the hell up.

That's why there are so many furry freaks in the world, everyone feels bad for them, but obviously not bad enough to point out that they need help.

I stupidly try to drag them back down and talk them into some sense, like "No, that pot plant is not food."

And every time I do, I suddenly find myself involved in one of those creepy online romances, or suddenly being called up in the middle of the night by a girl choking in tears blabbering about bleeding out in a bathtub and how much she needs me to buy a 1000$ plane ticket to Fiji to come kiss it all better.

I'm a sucker, and I'm an even bigger sucker for believing what these people are saying- When all they probably want is some attention from someone who doesn't think they're the plague of the earth. I don't blame them, really. But I don't think you, Hagfish, is a sucker.

And finally, the bottom line: Hagfish, don't feel like it's your personal responsibility to give a life to this person. If you want to, you can try, and it will be admireable as any self-sacrifice, but you might want to ask yourself if it is going to be worth it. This guy is apparently beyond the helping of anything other than a clinical psychologist.

People who say they're going to slit their wrists aren't going to do it, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about it. People who threaten to do things are just threatening, they just want attention. Unfortunately, the more attention you give these people, the more they do it. They're just like Pavlov's dog, they learn that acting like a suicidal moron gets them attention so they keep acting like a suicidal moron.

You're not helping anyone by proving that their anti-social behavior gives them what they want. If someone tells me they want to kill themselves, I suggest ways to do it. I give them all the encouragement in the world to go through with it. To my knowledge, absolutely none of them have ever really killed themselves, they never had any intention in the first place, they just wanted attention.
