Like him, love him or hate him, every once in a while he does hit the nail on the head.

Of course, this IS kind of like Danny DeVito looking at Verne Troyer and yelling "MIDGET!"

Well, it's not news. Babyfurs shit themselves. We've seen it a hundred times.
But somehow, it's slightly funnier and a bit more ironic coming from Groat.

Babyfurs are possibly the only demographic within the otherwise over-tolerant furry fandom that actually gets told off on regular occasion by other furries. And understandably so, too.

Groat has always been pretty good at understanding the subtle art of pissing off babyfurs. On the other hand, they're babyfurs. Anyone who doesn't recognize that people who purposefully shit themselves in public are bad needs to get hi head checked out. Try moving from the issue of shit to employment though, and Groat becomes the apologist.

Maybe Foxid can relay that cute little story about Groat at AC 05, concerning babyfurs and an air vent.

Hmm. It's difficult to satirize something so inherently ridiculous already. Babyfurs are self-satirizing.

I only vaguely remember the air vent story...the Groat vs. Babyfurs bit that stands out most in my mind was the guy sitting right behind Groat in the lobby who shit himself (yes, a babyfur...in the main lobby...dropped a load in his pants, for all to smell), and the overly loud outburst from El Groato about it.

'Course, I thought Groat throwing a temper tantrum when some of my Canadian friends showed off video footage their really really big firearms was even funnier...and significantly less disgusting. ^^

Jesus, he could have at least attempted to be clever, yeah we know it's weird that babyfurs do that. The baby speak plus the look on the shittee's face made me cringe, if that was the point of the comic, then bravo.

LOL, furry art isn't gonna buy you shit for guns, but he acctually threw a jealous fit? I've seen him in the minerva wedding photo with his little bitty micro Uzi (why did he bring it again?) but that's a welfare gun, you can find one of those for 150 bucks on the street, you need a salary to get a respectable fully.

Ohgod, I had almost forgotten about that. I was in the lobby when that smell came waffting out. Even the hotel staff behind the counter had to leave their positions.

Oh, you mean the same one he told at AC 04? ;)

Not that I'm a fan of babyfurs, but Groat is so full of shit that his eyes are bulging out of his head at times.

Panel 2 really should hav been the punchline to the joke. The baby' pride, the glowing hambeast mother...everything after that is just superfluous.

Is it just me or is making fun of babyfurs like hitting a piņata without a blindfold ... with a stinger missile?

Since I've passed up the boat on this many a time I guess I'll go ahead and throw in two cents by saying that babyfur is one of the only things as far as furry goes that I find genuinely unnerving.

The fetish and the reasons behind are too pathetic and sad to be funny, so really I wish that I never had to hear about these people ever.

Infantilists exist outside of furry as well. What ticks me off isn't what they do in private as long as they keep it that way and do not try to recruit. What ticks me off is that the only taking a dump in the pants routine of note is Steve Martin in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and not honoring that is just wrong.

the only real difference between an 'adult baby/infantilist' and 'babyfur' is that an 'adult baby, it would seem, has at least a little more dignity and common sense than a "baby fur"... oh and also doesnt have a wolf/fox tail hanging off thier asses.

I mean do regular ABs generate as much drama and hostility from poor behaviour like babyfurs do ? I really have no idea.

That comic is specifically meant to make fun of Blaze (Andrew Greene), a furry who looks like that IRL. Blaze likes kinky bondage and bears and all that jazz, and pursues men who look like him at cons with no qualms about being unshowered, disgusting looking and tactless. Blaze was rather upset with Groat over it.

Yet another in-joke. Suddenly, it's not funny anymore.

Oh, Angry!

A good In-joke is just an added plus on top of a joke anyone can get!
It works without knowing that one specific furry dirt bag! =)

Tho.. mmmmmaybe yer right.. in WCOTP's case.. it makes it less funny! =)

AFAIK, various fetish subcultures keep their fetishes to themselves. They organize parties and get-togethers where they can meet each other, and sometimes "outside" people are allowed to drop in and have a look and ask questions, but they never parade their fetish around in public.

Most of the types of fetishes found in furry fandom can be found outside it as well, but the difference is the lack of propriety exhibited by some furries. Like walking around in your diapers in a hotel lobby.

 *ahem* I'm only laughing because should have known better.

That and I believe I first came across that particular comic in something that wasn't furry. I think it was a general article about meeting people you know online offline and that was just an example of what could happen. It was probably back in 1997 so I don't remember just what the context was.

I do remember going through the WCOTP site after seeing that comic and I was just blown away how dull it was. I just sort of pushed it out of my memory until it was brought up on CYD. I went through the archives again and cracked up when I found that comic again. I didn't push ahead a whole lot because I'd made the shocking realization that WCOTP had been going on for years and that was the only one I found even remotely amusing. Scary. :P
