You know... hanging around one too many furry cons I have noticed how many supposed hardcore <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/community/furryravers/">raverfurs</a> and so depressed <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/community/gothfurs/">gothfurs</a> seem to cross over a lot.
Is it just me or does the idea behind both rave and goth seem very exclusive to the others? Just seems like a high level of poserdom. |

Both Ravers and Goths piss me off to no end. The furry aspect only galvanizes my hate for them. Fucking non-conformist conformists all make me want to hoot like a horny baboon and heave around heavy things into random people. Then suddenly they're FURRIES too! WOWZERS!
I seriously think these people have some identity problems. I can understand the teenage part of it, I mean, hey, they're teenagers, they're inherently fad-clingy. It's just too many of them are running into "anthropormorphic" roleplay chatrooms on AOL and thinking "WOW THIS IS DEEP AND UNIQUE" and rush out into the internet to discover more about this wonderful new thing to them, and thats when they walk willingly into the clutches of furrydumb.
Luckily I innoculated the 'goth' bug early on into my teenage life (I am now 17) when i was a nerdy, depressed kid with crazy hair, constantly whining about how I was always rejected. I almost became a furry, too. With my interest in the anthropormorphic, if I stumbled upon the formerly hidden recesses of furry in the internet at that time, I would've been lost to you now. Thankfully I was introduced to Something Awful, and subsequently CYD via a link to an article by Computolio on the SA forums.

now what were we talking about? |

Goth is fun :D but too much goth is just overkill, unfortunately 90% of goth furries fall under the fad overkill section. Same for Ravers, seen as the cool groups they are becoming increasing homogenised. Unfortunately they are ultimately falling victim to the furry amagamation thing that gives the world fursonas who are hybrids of every 'cool' creature and then some. |

yeah, theres definatly different levels of goths (and everything)
most annoy me, however, the type of goths that own and hop up/customize thier hearses are fucking cool as hell far as im concerned (of which, in furry, there are none)

My only big problem with it is the ones that are MeTos. I've seen it with every other interesting group in furrydom. Take the Deaddog! folks. They basically came together to fight post con depression (PCD) by keeping in touch with each other after cons, plus throwing dead dog parties at cons. Well, now they are getting a LOT of people wanting to be part of it because they just see another group of "popular" people they are trying to get involved anyway they can. Sadly, it's not that they are popular it the fact that they did something that is the secret to it.
The raverfurs and gothfurs, most of them anyway, got on the bandwaggon very late. Specially the raverfurs. They see something they think is popular and go about doing it. I'd have no problems with it if they actually cared about it, but I'd say a good 50 to 75% of them don't even care about themselves much less what they are pretending to care about now. |

Yeah, there are very few customizers in the furry fandom of any sort, which is annoying. A lot of creativity, but no real drive. I guess that's what pisses me off about most fandoms in general. |

I think it's an attempt to belong to as many hated cliques as possible.
I occasionally wear all black. I like techno. But ravers and goths piss me off. Just like I enjoy the anthro art style (clean stuff, bestiality sucks and is usually felonious...), but furries piss me off. |

I don't know if I hate them as much as I hate the hardcore nutters or the wannabes. I feel the same way about religion as I do subcultures. People who take things too far and too seriously need to relax. People who are just doing it to because they think they can get friends from it need help. I have no problem with people who do it every now and then, and admit they aren't apart of it. Those that do it for fun are good to have around. |

Goths and ravers both are the bane of my trip to the mall. Any mall with a Hot Topic, and you have these morons in large numbers, and it is just enough to make me go Dennis Leary on them. An SNL parody commercial could be made along the lines of how many people on Earth go naked every day while goths are wearing flare-leg black jeans with sufficient fabric to build tents to house all those poor naked people. I swear you could hide terrorists under their pants legs. Maybe its a national security issue...
Whatever... |

Cool! You know, we'd add more stuff like this to the forums to make the site even more attractive. :) |

I have that saved from my earlier discovery of Purple Pussy.
along with bulb or parrot
And what happened with the "Anime Chick" part? Did you mistakenly leave that part out of the main part and just tack it on the end, or is it intentionally faint and lonely? |
