Yeah, it's another livejournal, but it's too fascinating to not post:

That was pretty good, though I have to admit I was disappointed by the lack of furry outrage. There were plenty of furries making lame attempts to deal with him, but overall the user comments section was boring.

It's a pretty insane thought, but maybe the furries are starting to wisen up and actually ignore the trolls?

Seriously, a new LJ troll pops up every month. Are they so worried about some troll that they LINE UP to go argue or even bother with these people? It's the same formula each time.

Person starts a journal, preferrably something that mentions furries.
Person begins trolling other furry journals, and in turn posting a bunch of FURRIES SUCK FURRIES SUCK ANIMAL RAPISTS in their own journal. Bonus points if they make a list of furry LJs.
Furries SWARM in with the comments. It's either something along the line of "remove me from your friends list" or trying to preach to this person about how furry isn't bad. Or on occasion, some random joker who finds it all to be hilarious.
I'll let you guys add in the ??? PROFIT! stages
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Still. The drama is pretty entertaining to read.

Holy shit, 98 comments!

The best drama is one that is not intentionally invoked...
The furry community may be getting wise to trolls, but not to their own created drama.

I either feel:

A)
It was funny maybe the first five times someone did them but fishing for a bazillion "serious" furry replies by making an obvious trap on Livejournal is kind of lame now. Especially since we can see the same stupid people replying to each and every one of those.

- or -

B)
There has yet to be a seriously lololol payoff from any of these lately so they are pretty damn boring.

My opinion will flip-flop depending on whichever happends. So far A is winning.

The journal is so obviously baiting them it's not even that entertaining. Still, some of the responses were amusing.

"Furry is life...

Proud to be Furry...

Proud to be gay...

I don't see anything with being proud to be gay. That's a matter of personal struggle. But "Proud to be furry"? That's just silly.

I'm not "proud" to enjoy video games. I don't stand proud with my nerdy brothers and sisters united by Unreal Tournament. I'm not proud to work at a game store, wear this pink sweater, have scrambled eggs for breakfast, or have a Christmas tree with blue lights. These are just things I do or have, but not personal victories or movements or points that define my struggle or growth as an individual.

In the same way, Furry, even when it's not about sex, is just a hobby. It's not the civil rights struggle. These peoples just take it way way way too seriously and attach far too much gravity to it.

That's really meh. Some unfunny bored person probably just needed something to pass time with, but unfortunately furry outrage is the least imaginative/funny outrage there is.

I could make an account right now and post a single MSPaint picture of that one gay ringtail lemur character lynched and hanging from a tree. Stick figure, even. I guarantee there would be at least a hundred "Why are you so intolerant of people that you don't understand?!!" posts by tomorrow.

He reeeeeeally needs a hobby. Even his commentors do something more productive with their time: finding AA-worthy drawrings to post.* I think the proof that he's bored out of his skull is the fact that he actually replies to the comments, even the intelligent ones. Somebody get him some friends and a video game system.

Plus I think it's funny that we're laughing at this guy when I could see many of our own members doing something like this.

* Well okay, not really; they steal it from the "VCL horrors" community. I recognize three of them in a row as recent entries to it. So yeah, these people all have no life. You heard it here first.

That's what's great about being postmodern, you can say whatever you want to and it's automatically correct because you said it. HAR HAR HAR. :

I do.

First of all, pride is a bad idea in and of itself. It gives one a sense of superiority that more often then not makes one feel justified in treating others like shit*.

Second, if the gay advocacy groups are to be believed, one is BORN gay. It is a radnom circumstance of nature, not an accomplishment nor a matter of concious effort, and therefore, can not rationally be considered a point of pride.

Sorta like the black pride movement; destined for failure.

Wow...furries remind me of communist hippies...only they bathe less and don't shave as much and are a bit more stoned and-do I even need to go on any more?

I think a quick look around these forums could provide example(s) of old potheads for you. Your choices are your own, but do you want to end up like them?

If your talking about making unintelligable, retarded posts that have absolutely nothing to do with anything *coughJERRYcough*, then no.

Good point. Maybe it would raise death rates in the fandom, even.

I used to use that very same arguement for a long while, but I started to see that gay pride is actually about being proud to say you're gay -without being punched in the face with the protection of the Mardi Gras parade.

Yeah, I know. I'm talking about furries doing such incredibly stupid things in their high that they rid the genepools of themselves. Although, I DID say that my dreams never come true. The vagueness sets my words so that they could mean anything.

You know that's false, right?

Smoking -anything- has nasty effects, and pot isn't an exception. Actually, pot smoke is identical to tobacco smoke, the only difference is that nicotine is replaced by delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, that is the 'active' ingredient of pot, as nicotine is on tobacco or caffeine on coffee. True, nicotine is harmful, and THC seems to be more benign to our bodies -thus making almost impossible to have a death by overdose-, but then again, there's also a LOT of other chemicals getting in your lungs when you smoke pot.

As far as I can tell, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. And that may be as devastating, if not more, than nicotine itself. And, of course, it also harms people around who become passive smokers, too.

Truth is, you can't die of pot overdose. Truth is also smoking pot is as harmful as smoking cigarettes, and may lead you to a death as painful and terrible as smoking can - Let's not forget that what killed Bob Marley was... a brain tumor. Wether if it was related with his heavy pot smoking, that's something that has to be determined yet.

Edit: And don't smoke weed and drive.

 I think the point was that you can't overdose and kill yourself immediately on it, thus making it a "safe" drug. I know taking any foreign chemical into the body which is not meant to be there has long term health effects.
