I'm carrying a cross that you can nail me to if this has been done before.

So I'm going to throw a scenario out there that will likely (And by likely I mean never) happen. One day, a miracle happens, and all drama created by the fandom ceases to exist. The "normal" furries would still exist, the sex crazed furries would still exist, etc.

What would your take be on the fandom if this happened?
Would it change? Would you still consider the fandom stupid?
And if you've left the fandom, would you get back into it if this were to happen?

Also, on a random note, does anyone sense some sort of schism approaching?
Cause I sure as hell do.

Others have had traumatic experiences with furs and cons..
I just relive the cons every time I draw a pig. =)

Never gonna happen, as long as human beings are still alive. It's not the furries. It's the retards in it that you can basically find anywhere else. Star Trek has it's fanatics. So do needle-slinging grannies who go to book clubs. There is drama everywhere, and it will never cease to exist.

...If it did, the spacetime continuum which exists at Earth's coordinates would implode upon itself and form a singularity...etc etc. :wink:

Oh, no. We haven't errupted into full-blown thermo-nuclear warfare yet. Just give Dubya some time...

Anyway, it's an interesting concept. Suddenly everyone becomes tolerant of one another and the crazy furverts, retarded lifestylers, and (the very few) normal furries work together hand in hand blah blah blah. But then...where would the fun go? The only reason I ever plan on going to a con is all the madness that ensues after I pop Roxiecat's inflated titties. (I will do it, I will film it.) Don't take that away from me.

And if you've left the fandom, would you get back into it if this were to happen?

Not that my opinion matters, but I was thinking about joining the fandom before I learned about Mark Merlino and Friends. Then I just stuck with the label "anthropermorphiozmlie-whatever" fan, and I'm not even very fanatic. I'm more of a hobbyist, myself. The only thing that would make me willing to join the fandom is if all the freaks dissapeared from it completely. Then it would just be a small group of friends, though.

If all the furries went deep underground tomorrow - if all their forums, newsgroups, blogs and galleries became inaccessible without membership - would anyone here go to the effort of following them underground just for a laugh?

Would anyone go to the effort of keeping them in the public eye, even if the furries themselves don't want it?
