Recently, a fellow by the name of Mix Hyenataur has popped up around some exchange communities on Livejournal, and he's quickly becoming very hated becasue he's asking for any art that's done for him to not have signatures on it.
As you can see, he's made just a few people pretty darn angry.
What the hell is wrong with people nowadays. Sheesh. |

I like my art raw...
That's a likely story. "Oops, look at that, photoshop accidentally copied and pasted my own signature onto this commission. Oops, now the file accidentally dropped itself into my FTP client connected to VCL. Oh well..."
I might be mistaken, but this sounds like something Canus Claxass would do. |

Mix Hyenataur needs to get on some drugs because the guy is batshit. What with his obssessive need for NO SIGS, his diatribe against people who sign their work, and his response of "Shut the fuck up" to everyone who disagrees with him makes me think the guy's mom signed her name on him when he was a kid or something. Either that or he's just a nutty asshole. |

I was thinking more along the lines of he might be possibly selling prints or whatnot. |

Oh yeah, I love the STFU attitude he has...I mean I could perhaps understand his dislike of signatures (especially with some of the crappy watermarks I've seen)...but then him swearing and bellyaching at the world and his wife and playing the sob-story card really makes me want to smother him wth a pillow |

Heh, I dunno. Anyone who's passed the Eric Bauman school of photoshop knows it's not hard to remove copyrights and logos from images. Then again, he could be an idiot who wouldn't know what the rubber stamp tool did if it bit him. |

That would be pretty amusing to see someone get bit by a rubber stamp. I just think the furries are paranoid over their non-existant copyrights. :O |

Indeed he was, though he got banned once for drama. He was also the idiot who got in trouble with some con (AC, I want to say) for wearing an SA T-shirt. Nobody likes him, goons and furries included.
He comes from around the Chicago area, so I've known about him for a while (though I've never met him, thank God), as he's a nonstop drama-creating machine. He's one of those people who would be a really hilarious parody of furries if he only weren't real - but as he is real, it's just pathetic instead.

srsly. According to what i understand, he's trying to sell this art, however he refuses to offer any examples of his artwork. Some simple digging, however, shows up with this as being him.
pretty yucky art (what scant bit there is there) for a grand, huh? |

I don't see any art. Just a photo of his fursuit, one image made with the Flash Southpark character generator, screenshots and crap.
The colorscheme he used for the site alone makes me twitch. |

My computer screen is so old that it doesn't go very bright, so any dark picture or image get blurred down to nothingness. I could barely read his page...I got lost o_o |

Gah! There needs to be a law against furries using Flash! I partially like the long use of the ultra l33t walk cycle to show off his mad skillz! |

I was offered a 1GB CompactFlash card (Lexar, good quality) by mix_hyenataur in exchange for some fursuit items.
He can't even pay money for his fursuit? He's trying to purchase a fursuit with a flash card. Let me repeat, he has no money so he has to barter computer parts for a fursuit. This is delicious. |

If he's money-less, I'd say it's confounding more than delicious. If I had no money I'd be more worried about getting food than any, um, items for, er, recreational activities. Perhaps he's just a skinflint and tried to get rid of a CompactFlash card he no longer needed anyway. |

This just sounds like a stereotypical furry living with his mother, unemployed and whatnot. Like art in exchange for "yiff" *shudder*. Seriously, I have heard of this happening. |

Maybe she said at some point that she wanted such a card, and he jumped at the chance to get rid of a card he didn't want in exchance for fursuit items

Seriously, however, I believe it to be the latter, the first reason being that they found a price cheaper than than what mix was saying its value was. Furthermore, word choice (offered, not agreed) seems to hint that Mix was the instigator. Unless, of course, there was some LJ entry about 'Ears to anyone that can score me a flash card!'.
I find it unlikely that someone that has the skills to make a costume would want a flash card; what would they do with it? If they're sewing/gluing/cutting/stitching, they're going to be a very tactile person. Would they store costume ideas on a small, breakable card, or use a pencil and paper notebook to sketch ideas with without a laptop? I would hazard to guess that one can still draw while wearing large gloves, and is cheaper to protect against dripping hot glue. |

He was offering her the card because she had made a post that said basically that she would offer a full suit, or the equivilant of items, in exchange for a camera and a memory card. |

It's not like having one talent or interest prevents you from having several others as well. Most people will have a wide range of equipment reflecting various needs... sewing needles, pots, computer, cutlery, power tools, external HD, paint brushes, scissors, DVD burner, pencils... (continue list as needed) |

Bob seemed to be insinuating that just because you make fursuits or any other type of fashion item that you therefore do not use any kind of computer software or hardware for the purpose of your art...which I disagree with

The sad part is that I'm not one of the ones that drink while posting, so I don't even have that excuse. I don't know what I was thinking on that one.
As you can tell, the thought of digital cameras and whatnot didn't even enter it. I was honestly trying to figure out what a fashion item designer would want with a flash card because the only time I see them in use is as a hard drive for an embedded system. Not that I'm saying that said person necessarily wouldn't be making... but... but...
Can I start drinking while posting now, and retroactively chalk it up to misfired neurons? :? |

No, but if you say you have the typhoid or the cholera you can slip out of the argument with no problems |

Or if you claim to have Aspergers. Supposedly that'll get you off the hook for the rest of your life. But let us not go there again. |

Or if you claim to have Aspergers. Supposedly that'll keep working long-term. But let us not go there again.
No thanks. I'll stick to the typhoid and/or cholera, thank you very much. |
