The little yiffmonsters over at AFF actually think that they are finally winning the hearts & minds of the mundanes.

IIRC, that “shockwave” character in the article, had a lot of problems with his wife (as I heard) because he claimed that he was "really a werewolf" or some BS like that.

She apparently thought he was crazy or ill or something (unsurprisingly).

That bit with the kid on Anti-psychotics says a lot though.

Actualy, no. He's never claimed to be a werewolf, his wife just thought because he went to furry con's he wanted to be one. She also believed that anyone who played any kind of roll playing game was praying to Satan, in short, she had a lot of problems. Of all the folks I've met in the fandom, he's probably one of the most stable, and gets serious respect from me for putting up with her for the sake of the kids.

Not even close. I've known Shockwave online since I first came to the furry fandom and he's as relentlessly normal as you can get without falling asleep. A degree holding engineer with security clearances and work on NASA and other projects, he's very much straight arrow. Loyal to his wife, a good dad, and only in furry for anthropomorphics. He doesn't yiff, skritch, spooge, whatever. He writes and that's about it.

He's sparred with Hangdog and once upon a time was against the Burned Furs and refuses to be a critic and tries to remain open minded. He hasn't dealt with the total fuck-ups I have so he doesn't have that to push him anywhere near the line where he'd openly speak out against it, but does agree that a few people have had some serious problems. He just differs on how bad they really are for the fandom as a whole.

The Katy Mills nonsense on the other hand is just plain more of your normal furry fan idiocy. Masks are not allowed in public for good reason in many places and it isn't a matter of persecution either. Ski masks in winter are ordered off by mall security on entering in my town. Halloween masks were forbidden during Halloween Family Night. Only furry fanboys can get the idea that they should be allowed to fursuit anywhere they wish and that failure to come screaming along in adoration amounts to persecution.

And yes, Maid Marion is sexy, but the point of it is sheer anthropomorphics. Robin Hood retells the classic story with animal characters but the voicing and acting are all human. It makes the viewer let their guard down in some areas where they might in a stealth way take in some of the nuances. Maid Marion is one of those unapproachable yet coveted gentle female characters in fiction and making her a cartoon is nothing big. Spooge of her taking it up the arse from the rest of the cast is just wrong and THAT is what furry tends to do, not the stop at the former.

Anthropomorphics isn't enough with furry. It has to get attention and be more disgusting, titilating, annoying, etc., than the last work. It's all about me, me, me. Not about telling a story through a different genre. And worse yet is the furry penchant for beating a dead horse into paste by maximum overkill. Not enough to do it once for laughs or dark enjoyment, but nonstop like a sewage outlet. It's as if the worst cartoons in Hustler were churned out to adoring fans by the bound volume enough to fill the Library of Congress.

Shockwave? Compared to the people who encompass the above, he's the Pope. Compared to me, he's my local parish priest. Let me guess David. He thinks you're a troll, responded to you as such, and you just want to mudsling here to get back at him. Tsk.

If he's a priest compared to me then that makes me considerably less saintly. Never said I was a choirboy.
