"Venus in Fur, with Convenient Slits" - good one!

So George W. Bush is a furry? Maybe that explains why Jay Naylor went ballistic when whoever it was called Bush a fool in a post on Naylor's LiveJournal.

I like how the author purposefully got stuff wrong about the furries so that they'd get in a tizzy when they read the article. There's already a pretty good example of such a reaction right here.

Many years ago on Portal Of Evil, the esteemed JS Power once said to Manawolf: "You don't get the joke because you ARE the joke". Never have those words been more appropriate.

I bursted into manic laughter when I saw this person's avatar.
And the drawing on the right... Dear aiesú, Most definitely atrocity archive material. The posts were just basic uninteresting student blahblah.

The avatar is merely angsty whiny nerdishness in visual form. For audio, just listen to Bowling for Soup or Hubastank(?). Angsty whiny nerdishness is just yet another creeping plague loosed into the world.

Perhaps you’ve heard of "furries," alternately known as "plushophiles," persons who find pleasure in dressing up in furry cartoon-animal or stuffed-toy costumes and having sex with someone else dressed as a furry cartoon animal, one would hope not as the same cartoon animal, which just seems sort of wrong.

That just makes me laugh, it's impossible to take offence when it doesn't applie to you. Haha "plushophiles" I can just imagine some old guy at a con carrying a soiled teddy bear around a con.

At first, I figured I could take this same motif and apply it to myself. When I went to FC03, and was assaulted by not only the oddities abound, but the poor folks who were merely staying at the hotel, I was able to see both views rather clearly. As I was dressed up (I had a nice shirt and kakhis), they came and asked what "my" convention was all about. I felt sad for them, and rather ashamed.

Sure, if you're into goatse, that's fine; just keep it in your own fucking room - others should not be subjected to it - and that's one of the things the fandom, on the whole, has been promoting the last few years.

"You don't understand, you're just a mundane!"

No. I don't want to see your sorry cock sticking out of a piece of teflon wrapped pricariously beneath a soiled rug. Neither does anyone else who's not in your group of fetishests. Sure, it's a convention, and you can 'go all out', but there should still be some sense of dignity, if not a bit of a nod towards others.

I'm not going to make out with some guy in a large group of people to "squick" the norms; I fail to see what right someone else has to force their perversions unto me.
