I must thank Hirtes for finding this site. Even though this article is aimed at anime, it's amazing how anime and furry are compatable!

An exerpt:

There is the misapprehension among otaku that, should they ever meet this dream woman, she’ll instantly fall in love with them completely unconditionally. None of them ever think that she might have STANDARDS. Not even ultra-basic ones, like having a shower now and again, or washing your hair when it needs it, or using the odd spray of deodorant. If you do stumble your way through life seeking out your dream girl, you’ll invariably wind up frustrated and alone, cursing the fact that every girl you meet has “set her standards too damn high.” Chances are that a lot of them have relatively normal standards. And you don’t even get close. This sort quickly turns into a “Nice Guy.” (Furthermore, maybe your standards are too high.)

ROFL!

Oh, wait. Yeah, this was referenced once. I like the entire pretense of anime in this aspect; I saw "Ah! My Goddess!" recently, and had to roll my eyes at the first episode. The pretext being that he misdials food delivery, and gets a goddess. What next? Well, figuring it's a joke, he asks her to be his girlfriend.

In that aspect, it's similar to the fandom.

Sorry, I suck at matching fonts, and seem to have forgotten how to kern text.

It's deja vu all over again!

I prefer Rankin's wording though :)

Word.

I think we used the same Trainspotting picture for reference - how else would we have such proportional sizes? ;)

By the by, how did you kern the text properly? I know how to do it in Photoshop 5.5, but this recent incarnation of 7 entirely eludes me.

Lessee...
Instead of writing the text directly on the layer, you'd create a "text block" by clicking and dragging the mouse with the text tool selected. Once you've done that, you open the paragraph window (view-paragraph) and you'll notice that the icons showing the different styles of justified text are active! Yaaaay!

(edit: for fonts, try this link: http://www.zhku.edu.cn/report/corel10(1)/corel10/Fonts/ )

Quoted from the anime article:

It makes you look like an idiot, so everyone else laughs at you. That’s the basic upshot of this. There’s liking anime and there’s building your entire sense of self on it. One is healthy. The other is not. And everyone knows that except you.

The part in bold really hits home with the whole furrydom thing.
