Uh, I can't find the list right now, but here are the shows that are stying form the techTV side of the soon to be G4techTV merger... (Things with a (?) I'm not sure on)
The Screen Savers
Unscrewed (?)
X Play
Anime Unleashed
Robot Wars (?)
When I find the offical list, I'll post it where appropriate. |

What a pile of distilled ass it was. I'm sorry, but showing people this 'l33t MIRC thing' (enunciated 'Merk') is hardly anything but social pulp for geeks on the same class as those who watch UPN for stimuli. |

G4 merging with TechTV? Actually makes a lot of sense to me, all things considered - a lot of gamers are also kind of big on the technical aspect. Well, computer gamers anyway...although Robot Wars ought to be fun too! |

After some sleep I did a bit of looking and found this which looks OK, but there's no gaurentee that they'll still have the same people working on the shows(as they'd have to relocate to LA, something I can understand not wanting to do).
The one thing I don't get is, they're keeping Thunderbirds And dropping Tech Live? Are the reatings really that good for the damn puppets or is it that the royalties are just that much less?
And has anyone here even seen this G4 network? I haven't heard much about them so I'm not sure what to expect(though I know what my guts telling me). |

I get G4 here it's pretty pointless really, mostl;y programming devoted to video and computer games, some of it fill like one of the programs where they run captured game footage, and some other really lame programming like the like a show called "Arena" where you get to watch a couple of teams of computer/vidio game players compete, It's as exciting as watching paint dry.

... which still has to suck less than Comedy Central. ;) |

Well, for one thing, they are probably merging Tech Live and G4TV.com into one show. Probably called g4techtv.com or something. I know, sounds bad, but getting some techTV injection into G4 is a good thing.
And thanks for beating me to this punch
And another thing, thank god that there is NO MORE STARCADE! Worst Video Game Based Gameshow EVER.
Pretty amazing though that Eye Drops (a show without new episodes in over a year) is staying... I just hope they make new episodes of Portal again. I loved that show. FUNNY stuff man! Think of MST3K style stuff, using video from MMORPGs. I know, I don't describe it good enough, but trust me, it's TEH FUNNY.
I just hope alot of the TechTV workers make the transition to LA when the merger happens. I sorta like Patrick, Leo and the classic "The Screen Savers" gang. And Robot Wars. |

I'm with M0us3 on this. I like both channels (though not every show on them), and since I, myself, don't have G4, I'm pretty damn happy about this. And they're keeping pretty much all the shows I like from both channels, so there's another plus.
And Portal's over. Dave already stated it. It was good while it lasted, and it was damn funny, but Dave's doing something else now (which should be good, since he was the main, and I think only, writer for Portal). Personally, I hope he does some writing for X-Play. The humor on that show is okay, but can be dry at times, and Morgan was never funny to begin with, unlike Adam.
And I really hoped Robot Wars and Thunderbirds would be dropped. I was sure Thunderbirds was already--I have yet to see it on my DirectTV guide as playing at any time.
And all the TechTV main folks are staying, which is good, because Leo Laporte is God, Adam Sessler belonged on G4 in the first place, and Martin Sergent's just damn funny, and all 3 of them are survivng the merger. |

You see?
Embrace change! Change is good!
Okay enough of that nonsense.
All I have to say, is that if they keep Yoshi on making those REALLY sweet computer mods, I'm happy.
He's a real artist. |

Every once in a while, I forget my place, suspended between total apathy and complete indifference, put down my DILLIGAF hat, and make the fateful mistake of asking myself, "what's going on now?"
Usually, I catch myself as I get into it and say, "no, no, don't tell me. I'll bleed from the ears if I think about it."
So glad to have that building reflex that says, ain't no way I need to bother with this.
So I don't.
All I need to know is TechTV sucked like Sharon Mitchell on Joey Silvera but without the culturally redeeming value.
Kids, you can get more ideas in tech from picking up a copy of the Tiger Direct catalog and a Popular Science magazine.
Reminds me of those damn shows where Brit and Aussie hosts(never any Americans; what, were we fresh out of third-string show hosts desperate enough for this level of journalistic Hell?) would come on and give us all the run-down on these neat techie things like cars that drive on water(wow, I must have missed those 60s cars that did that), computers that can play video(like Windows for Workgroups 3.11?), and other assorted crap like particle accellarators(excellent raw knowledge but useless for a housewife in Altoona).
This was about the late nineties, before I met my wife. It always seemed like these things were geared towards an audience which just woke up from a coma to the wonderful world of the future circa 1996 and we'd all somehow missed the crap we were hip deep in EVERY FUCKING DAY.
Well, TechTV has never really been any different than that gee-whiz crap of the mid to late nineties.
I do still wonder what American journalistic bottom rung of the ladder people were doing during that time and if we exported them to other countries, you have our apologies. Mail them back for a full refund and we'll send them where they belong. Covering the next furry convention. |

Sorry, mistaken identity. Your last rant sounded like one of his.
