It was me. Be sure to say if it doesn't work in your browser.

Also, I don't know when it's going to be updated because the webspace is running a little low and it's either start ditching content or prune the old forum posts and I can't decide which to do.

I don't know anything about phpBB, but how much space do the forum posts take up ?

You could always just just ditch any threads over 2-3 months old with no new postings in them and just archive them somewhere, in case the situation improves.

Because over time there are more updates and more posts...its all temporary solutions to a perpetual problem I guess.

I made some room by moving a lot of images and stuff offsite, so we have a few megabytes breathing space. No need to worry.... yet.

It is significantly less ugly with the redesign, if I dare say, if not even more painful upon the eyes.

Trust me; this one is at least a bit better. A few friends of mine have various different stages of color blindness, and they've all but given up on CYD for reasons other than being offended.

What's up with it? Fonts? Colours? Insufficient contrast? Please make with the suggestions.

I think the new layout is a bit more polished and cohesive... but it lacks pizzaz. It looks kind of like I should be ordering industrial wipes from it or something. But, I assume the focus isn't really on a jazzy front page, but simply show everyone where everything is. With the storage concerns that have been expressed, too, I know a snazzier design would eat up resources.

I like the new style, although, I must say I liked the old one better. The color scheme and the feel of it.

I personally prefer black backgrounds, rather than black text on white backgrounds.

There is entirely too much pizzaz on the internet. Im really getting to miss simple, direct web design.

The fonts are fine; if not somewhat tiny for people with larger screens (I don't have this problem). The blue is a bit painful on my eyes, personally, and using white against blue with a white background is a bit nauseating; however, it is functional The red mouseovers are a nice touch. If I might be so bold as to suggest, the background for the main page, in the very least not be paper-white? Maybe something like #E4E4E4 or so?

The old colors and the overabundance of black just looked like angry fruit salad. It was functional, however, this looks quite a bit more streamlined.

You're confusing pizzaz with garishness.

This has pizzaz while still retaining streamlined functionality.

This, however, goes beyond pizzaz and straight into garishness and poor design. Note the "mystery meat" navigation as well, as described by Vincent Flanders of webpagesthatsuck.com.

Another great example of garish web pages... especially so for a government agency, is the St. Louis U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regional office permits page. A few years back, I talked with the pagemaster while trying to get a copy of the wetland permit application. She pointed me to this site and was exceedingly proud of it. I didn't have the heart to tell her that not only was it atrocious, but it's a complete joke of a page for a regulatory agency. Woman, get thee to a copy of Dreamweaver.
