Long-Time-Lurker, First-Time-Poster/Registered Account, etc.

I'm looking for some exact details about the 2003 Anthrocon incident (and others.)

From what I can remember being posted a year ago, the Anthrocon was marred when "LexyEevee" was caught with his pants down, taken to jail, and given to his parents, much to their chagrin (who hadn't much knowledge of their son's homosexuality nor involvement with the furry fandom.)

Both went to the 2004 one this year, strange enough.

Since the hubbub, once highlighted at the beloved Portal of Evil, "LexyEevee" has purged/friends only'd his journal, so his take of the tale (of how he took it in the tail) isn't available. Partner in crime, Kupok has a perspective on the events.

A year later, and not much has changed: both are slightly passive, whiney brats with lazy use of the English language in their LiveJournals. "Kupok" is 20 this year. "Lexy" is 17.

Any recollection of the event would be appreciated, as well as any info about previous incidents at convetions. Wasn't a Confurence raided by the Vice cops years ago?

I believe the term "Twinks" would be the appropriate to describe these two. I noticed how Kupok was very vague about what happened. Making it look like they were the victoms of the police. Honestly, if what said is true. The police and the people at the con did exactly what they should have. But to be honest, I know nothing about this incident. (Was it the one that supposedly happened in an elevator?..)

I gave him the only thing on me that really had any meaning- My Chocobo Plush.

Touching In all the wrong places.

Also, that last response on Kupok's journal.. yeesh.

kind of, sort of...

If this was last year, I take it these 2 would have been 16 and 19 ...while that, at the very least, is a gray area legally, my best friend was going out with a 16 year old girl when he was 20 (they went out for 2 years). Depending on how exactly that happens, that can be kind of creepy, but it happens all the time. Especially when you have pretty age-diverse groups of people that hang out together and party frequently. Im talking an age range of usually 15-23 here at both extremes for the whole group (like the crowd I used to hang out with , and to a certain extent, still do) - its not unheard of at all. In some cases it might be abusive - in a lot of them, its totally ok - obviously the parents' attitude is extremely pertainant.

I went to Anthrocon this year for the hell of it, and drank. And drank, and drank, and drank some more.

There thankfully doesn't seem to be much drama regarding underage sex thus far, worst drama is surrounding drug use.

Yes, but given that many furries consider drug use to be FAR worse than statuitory rape, that's not really all that surprising.

For all the shit people give AC and FC, it somes down to two things. Either A) it's because they aren't the filthfests CF was or B) they aren't so squeaky clean as to make your average southern Baptists grandmother think the world of them.

Normally the shit doesn't hit the fan until about 2 weeks to a month after either convention. I'm gonna wait around to see what happens. Though, I think this time a lot of the stupids have finally gotten it into their heads that they are truely on their own if they fuck up the convention or at the convention.

I noticed this in Michel Gagne's Anthrocon report (which is an interesting newbie's account of AC):
After announcing that I was to be a guest of honor at Anthrocon 2004, I started receiving warnings from fans and pros alike, of the danger of being associated with such a "twisted" fandom. That made me more curious about the whole thing. I wanted to find out for myself.

Welp, considering Stan Sakai's little daughter, Hannah, basically went furry at the con and now has a gay boyfriend (it was damned funny and cute watching that "But, I'm gay!" *hitshim* "No you aren't!"), I think AC has proven not all furries are fucked up.

Still... even the babyfurs were visiable, but luckily we kept the bondage gear to a minimum.

I found Gagné's AC report via a link on Cartoon Brew, along with this nicely caustic comment:

Animator turned self-publishing magnate, Michel Gagné files a REPORT from Anthrocon 2004, a major "furry" convention in Philadelphia. I'm not planning on attending one of these conventions anytime soon so it's interesting to hear Michel's outsider take on the proceedings. They apparently treat their guests of honor none too shabbily, picking them up in limos, housing them in top-floor hotel suites and feeding them nice dinners. The flip side is...well...just look at the pictures on his site. For folks who want to purchase Michel's fine books and merchandise in a slightly less adventurous environment, they can see him at next week's San Diego Comic-Con where Gagné International will be located at booth #1907.

I should continue it... but it was supposed to be just a opening title parody... in Barks tradition. =)

This should take place in 1945 .. But who could the ancient furfans have oogled back then? =) Jessica Rabbit?

:(

The word “ye” was just used as shorthand for “the” when you were writing.
At no point did people ever say “ye” to each other.

Hey, if furries, real and in print, can say dumbass words like "skritch," "yiff," and "happywriggles" with seriousness, they can say "ye," too.

Did you know that "you" is the formal tense, whereas "thou" is the informal? So, nobody ever called a king or queen "thou" and kept their head.

I know way too much about irrelevant shit.

Donotsue, you rock. That was perfect barksism there. And if you made a complete comic out of it, you would rock even harder.

Any female animal cartoon character made before then, I guess. There should be a few. Or you might just have it take place today? Vicar does Barks-style stories in a modern setting.

Yes.. Vicar's been in almost every euro-duck-mag since early 70s... he was better in early 80s than now. =) His Faces have gone flat...
And he's got an entire studio of inkers... Barks was still the only one man show!

So since this is the anthrocon thread... anyone got any juicy stories of the last? -Just for inspiration... for by popular demand... (Just Paul)
... I am continuing the nephew-comic. =)

Oh, and lawks-a-lawdy, thar seems to be ye "Michel Gagne's Anthrocon report" onto which I haven't cast my eyes upon yet.. =)

... -Dies.-

I remember all that. I never went to Anthrocon, but Lexy (And Kupok) tended to frequent a channel in mIRC.

I believe a 'Hulex' was involved in it, too.

Oh boy, was there some crazy crap going on in the channel.

That's true. Vicar doesn't write stories, either, he has scriptwriters. But I think he's one of the better current Disney comic book artists (not that I pay that much attention). Barks, of course, was the man. Only Disney comic book artist I think could rival him was Floyd Gottfredson in his heyday. Still, hard to compare; Barks and Gottfredson each made comics that are very different from the other guy's. I guess I just think Gottfredson's unfairly underrated, especially compared to celebrated-but-not-very-good artists like Don Rosa...

Ol' Donny's good with copying nearly any style, it seems. He's done some things that'll make your head spin... then stop, long enough to vomit before continuing it's course.

It's Barksian because all panels are " Borrowed" from his stories... just to see what Donny would be like if he had
drawn him! =)

Mainly from an Untitled story with Professor Pulpheart Clabberhead - Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #92 - 1948
Reprinted as "Raising Cains" WDC&S #541

And that's all, folks, for now. I may finish it someday... after I seek out enough suitable frames to borrow...
Or maybe the joke's old by now? =)

I know where the "skunk with zebra stripes" comes from, but wasn't "six-breasted herm possum" from a post Alienjack made on the POE forums? Something about killing a furry with a huge switchblade cock to avenge the rape of his poor little dog...

You're very talented, btw. Reminds me of all those Disney comics I used to love as a kid.

Why do I get the feeling that the nephews' "life experience" with the con will leave them with sore "tailholes" and at some point, Unca Donny will go postal with an aluminum bat when he gets to say "I told you so."

Hey kids, want some candy?

Or how about a balloon? They float, y'know.

They all float down here.

Clever and Smart are still very popular here in Spain (even if they aren't as good as they used to be back on the 70s). In face, if I'm drawing my lil' cute critters it's because of Ibañez's favorite creation.

On a side note, I'm projecting a ferretesque version of Clever and Smart. We need more slapstick!
