Dear me, once again, It’s time to wheel out the hateful rhetoric and invoke the negative feedback cycle.

The Convention known as "mephit furmeet", has one “Delphinios” serving as
“Co-Assistant Con Chair/Programming Director”

And this Delphinios is also a self admitted “zoophile” or animal abuser, as other people call them.

See <35ab2e3a.0308172202.1a18c92c@posting.google.com> on alt.fan.furry for their own self admittence and unrepentance.

I tried to raise the issue of this (And how it is bad for the furry fandom to have people who rape animals participating in it) with the convention chairmen, but they ducked and danced around the issue, coping out, instead of doing what is right and proper and getting rid of the person.

It’s not like they even need much of a reason?
Animal abusers share many common characteristics with Paedophiles (many paedophiles themselves have abused animals)

And you’d think that having such a person on staff would be bad?
But not, furry seems to have a soft spot for animal abusers.

Can’t think why…

No great surprise --- Mephit Furmeet is one of the few conventions which was set up in protest of the clean furcons --- which themselves were set up in protest of the sleaze that had become all too common at ConFurence.

MF's founders, and many of their constaff since then, are semi-paranoiacs who thought "Burned Fur" was going to take over the fandom and wanted to defend lifestylers by creating a "haven".

Of course, Burned Fur was never a real threat, and no one has ever tried to shut MF or any of the other few "smut cons" like it down.

If you want to complain to them about the image they're presenting to the world at large of furry fandom, get in line --- plenty of furries are way ahead of you.

Drama like this is the very reason why I just can't tear myself away from the furries. Now as I understand it, there's tons of convention crapflinging in The Fandom's history (after all, I'm trying to work on the Merlino article), but the fact that one convention was started with the intent of being even MORE dysfunctional - that's news to me.
