Well that certainly was a whole new colour of fucked-up. Not very shocking though, just really really weird. I've read some pretty strange manga; I wonder just how odd this one is by Japanese standards? Just offbeat "underground comix" humour or actually FUBAR?

It's from an anthology called Comic Cue, billed as "ultra super delux pop comix for entertainment". I'm betting it's generaly considered fucked up in Japan as well, or else what'd be the point? And yeah, I did consider that furries would be all over this like maggots on rice; we can't have anything nice anymore.

Here's a decent review of the Family Zoo (the only one I could find).

Somehow I was surprised to see the sex scenes, and when I did my internet tarnished brain jumped to use the word 'hentai', but it didn't feel like it was intended to be hentai.

I liked it though. The story was thin, and wouldn't be worth a look if not for the shock value, but it worked for what it was. Then again, your mileage may vary. I'm not someone who drowns himself in 'fucked up' on a daily basis to the point of oversaturation, nor are my tender sensibilities easily threatened, nor do I have a nagging doubt ringing in the back of my mind: "does reading this make me more 'furry'?" (admit it, some of you people are recovering furryholics, you were there once and run the danger of falling of the wagon -you know who you are)

All pretention aside, if you can still tell that this isn't really hentai or furry, and that it's just meant to be a good little "hahaha that's some pretty fucked up shit" story, you're probably pretty well adjusted.
