Anyone else got one of these beauties? I've installed a lot of these for multiple cable companies as well as both Dish and DirecTV and gotta say the one I got from Cox beat the daylights out of everything I've tried before. Dual tuner recording, on the manual/series/timer record, etc. Even supports HD when I get the chance for an HD set.

Now I can record those programs with furry content (like that CSI episode) without actually having to watch them at the time and thus save myself the grievous mental harm when my defenses are down after work and instead steel myself with plenty of hard liquor and watch them on my days off.

Of course, recording SG-1 while I'm at work and everything else is nice too.

Anyone else got one of these sort of things where they are?

My Dual-tuner DVR from Cox is due later this month. I'm looking forward to retiring my ReplayTV and putting it up on eBay.

Or, I might keep it. The model I have (the 2000 series) was made before they were forced to incorporate copyguard-detection circuitry in all models made after, so it has it's uses.

It's cool that the Cox model is even capable of recording HiDef content (and about 40+ hours HD storage). That alone is going to be a strong selling point with all the couch taters out there.

Yes, I had setup my circa '82 colro TV on my clothes hamper with my dvd player and vcr so I could play videogames. That was long ago. I am muuuch better now. ;)

Those are Papa Romeo, and a couple of wolves. I forget the make, since I don't havve the tags for them.

Long story short: I bought a cheap audio rack/stand with glass shelves to match my computer desk. All of my old equipment was slightly too big, as there were no measurements. Instead of returning it, I threw them on it.

The TV and hamper, however, have to go. It's classless and annoys me. Even if I do have one piece of sauder furniture, I don't like it.

Papa Romeo - Raccoon. This cuddly raccoon is sure to brighten anyones day. Grey soft fur with white and black face makes Papa Romeo the perfect partner.

Partner?! Maybe my mind has been infected by furrydumb, but that just sounds wrong.

You sick fuck. You incredibly sick fuck. Do not taint my innocent collection. Gift wrapping does not include such things! You've made me sad, Paul. Keep away from my plushies - and my TV!

Rankin, god damn man. I have plush (two bunnies and a snowman, actually), but I keep it in the closet (literaly). You're sick.

That laundry hamper blew my mind BTW. Second funniest thing I've seen all day, seriously.

EDIT: Fuck, I forgot to reply on the thread topic. See, ya messed me up?

I've got a 30 hour Tivo, though not currently subscribed at the moment. I bought it new over two years ago, but haven't used it in almost a year, which probably means I need to stop getting off on the computer and start watching more TV like normal, sociable folks.

I don't hump mine, so I don't feel the need to hide them.

The hamper originated in the closet, but I pulled it out to use it so I could watch TV from bed. I ended up playing four games of emulated oldschool on my PS1, and now... I need to put the hamper back in the closet.

It's ugly as shit, but functional as hell. Carting that washable cloth bag to the laundromat is much easier than hampers. I miss having an in-house system. It's rough.

Well, since we're having full disclosure here.. I've also got a tiny little stuffed dalmation, and a little blue elephant holding a soft cube with a rattle inside. They're put away in a box of stuff somewhere. I think most of them were on major discount when I saw them, so what the fuck I bought them.

I should post pictures and OH GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS THREAD??

I have the Dish network PVR which is great in my opinion, though I haven't sampled anything different. It has full component video, a search feature to search programming information for key words, and can store up to a week of programming information on HD, 100 hours of recording time, (The week of programming info is not storing programming, it's like storing a digital TV guide)
Thing is it's too fragile. I ruined one when the shelf it was sitting on broke while the drive was still in motion. Otherwise I think it's great! I can record from the PVR (WHY is it PVR? It's basically a DVR) directly onto my DVD.
(Anyone who has seen my living quarters knows I am a videogame junkie. I'm worse than Coop from Megas XLR)

Well, Dish now does tend to put a BIG RED FUCKING STICKER on their Dishplayers that NO ONE EVER BOTHERS READING. Two problems are that they sell 522s to people who have only one TV(so why the dual tuner you wonder when it doesn't work the way the cable dual tuner does) and of course they don't educate people about their care and feeding. Too bad.

I have stuffed animals only on my monitor. Little Beanie Babies or similar that were gifts from my wife. Nothing else. The only large plush I own is a teddy bear that was also a gift from my wife and it is up in the bathroom awaiting laundry day after my cat whizzed on it.

I don't even know where the heck my wolf slippers are. Haven't seen them in forever.
