That guy is indescribably popular here in Finland. Although, we have a rammstein'esque metal band consisting of two gimps.
The thing that strikes me, though, the majority of people who like Günther have no idea what the word "camp" means.

God bless Europe (especially Scandinavia) for their never-ending supply of cheesy dance music! It's like the '70s never ended for them, and ABBA will forever be together...
I get to hear this kind of thing first-hand when CBC Radio broadcasts half an hour of Radio Sweden every night in the wee small hours. Stuff like this and "Trendy Discotheque" by Pay TV - bubblegummy, synth-laden ultra-pop, with a wink and a nudge to the listener to let them know it's all a big self-parody.
