Post subject: Article about furries featured on Mexican 'zine |
  |

  |

Not too long ago, we had on this forum the visit of a certain "Alek Zorro", a Mexican furry who compared CYD with the Ku Kux Klan.

One of his ideas to promote the furry fandom in Latin America was to send an e-mail to the Mexican version of the divulgative magazine 'Quo', very popular on Mexico, telling them about the furry fandom and inviting them to do an article about that philosophy, as he defined it.

Surprisingly, Quo did read the e-mail, and one of their journalists wrote a 4-page article about furry fandom, appeared on August issue.

It would seem like a big victory for the furry fandom, if it wasn't because... August's issue was a Sex & Quirks Special, and they did portray furry fandom like a funny mostly gay sexual fetish.

I've got scans of the three pages I've got so far available at http://www.wintervision.com/~miguel/9x1/furry1.jpg , furry2.jpg and furry3.jpg, and will translate it as soon as I can.

Basically, it looks like the journalist did what anybody else would have done to investigate something. She typed 'furry' on a search engine and then... well, she did her article based on what she found: PeterCat Info Page, Captain Mouse's page and, who knows, she may have also found Vanity Fair's article, hence why Ostrich and Foxwolfie Galen are not only mentioned but quoted.

The article is accompanied by pictures of professional models posing on fursuits, specially contracted for this article. and seek to titillate rather than anything else.

Let me translate my favorite quote:

Yes, there's a spot for you where you can meet people who think and feel like you. People who practice sex with they plushie toys, and enjoy pictures featuring vixens with huge vaginas while they're penetrated by lions with erect penises and large amounts of semen, and at the same time exhibiting forms and expressions purely human. |

| I don't need a translator to know that when the words "Foxwolfie Galen" appear in an article, fun is sure to be found. |

SKRITCH: Erotico o sexy I prefer the definition given to "Burned Fur". I don't speak a word of spanish, but I can hazard a fairly good guess... |

| From what little Spanish I know, it seems like the author / sources are fairly accurate on everything furry. And yes, the pictures are a real lol-ocaust. |

Alek Zorro? Could he be Zorro Re, the guy who had/has pedo art on furnation? Could that be why he was comparing us to the KKK, because we ripped on him a while back?

Just a thought. |

I don't think so, Kadius.

Alek Zorro is a different person. |
