Not to turn things political here, but I need someone to verify if I'm really hearing this for real and not just going insane. If you go to this page and scroll down, there's an audio clip called "Kerry's Coalition of the Wild-Eyed" that splices Kerry speeches with Hitler speeches. HITLER SPEECHES. Complete with "Sig Heils" in the background.

It's real alright. I watched the video clip you're talking about, and it's pretty awful. "Don't vote for Kerry (or democrat), he's a communist/Nazi/Hippy/whatever." Isn't a very persuasive thing to say, not to mention down right offensive.

I'm also kinda tired of the threat of terror. Today it's Orange/Red/Yellow and then they come out and say 'Be on the alert, something MIGHT happen.'

So in closing:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original video put out by the Kerry side, intercutting Bush speeches with Hitler? It was, but they backpeddled as fast as they could after getting slammed for the sheer stupidity of going down that road. Then the Bush campaign made their own video, intercutting the same Hitler footage with footage of Al Gore and others pounding their fists and roaring like homicidal madmen. I'm not sure if it's the one you're mentioning (I'm not going to bother watching, I really don't care either way), but the Bush side got handed some PR hits against Kerry on that one.

I think the original "Bush=Hitler" ad was submitted as an entry to MoveOn.org's Bushin30seconds contest. . It might have been on MoveOn's website once, but it no longer exists there.

I wouldn't have thought the ad was comparing Kerry to Hitler. I'm more concerned that they're mixing the images of the big personas of the Democratic party with the overzealous creation of some unknown person.

Of course, if MoveOn actually published the thing, then they brought this on. The Holocaust is overly referenced by special interests... at this point the only gain for such comparisons is media attention. "Look at us, it's horrible!; Look at them, they have no respect for the horrible!; etc"

And hey, it works. We're paying attention to it right now, on a forum where this topic doesn't quite fit. Yippie.
