While watching Comedy Central, I've seen a few commercials for their new animated parody on reality TV shows called Drawn Together. One of the characters, Foxxy Love, is a take-off on Josie and the Pussycats. Sporting fake fox ears and a fake tail, I knew from the moment I saw her design that the furries would be fapping away... at least, the ones that could get past all the hy00man stuff.

Now, I haven't been on A.F.F. in a bazillion years. But, when Computholio provided a link to it, I figured I'd see what fun could be dredged up to share here. Seeing a thread about Drawn Together, my suspicions and/or fears were confirmed:

Dan would have liked FOXY LOVE.

And the nice thing is that, since she's a toon, her costume tail can wag
without any explanation... :)

Leave it to a furry to fixate on the wagging tail... even if its fake.

I'd like to think it has something to do with hormones.

Well, the costume designs for one. Nice idea with the ears and tails on Foxy
but pretty much everything else for all the other characters is ugh ugh ugh.

It's as cras as an Archie comic, with all of the artistic abilities! Haven't seen it; won't see it. Gave up cable about a year ago, and I don't regret it - especally losing Comedy Network. God it sucks.

Just looking at that insipid flash hurt my head. Fur sure.

I watched the first episode and thought it sucked, and that's coming from someone who liked Father of the Pride.

One thing caught me by surprise in one of those weird Twilight Zone ways; partway through the episode the pig (voiced by Adam Carolla) walks back and forth through a scene without any pants on, with a visible, recognizable penis hanging out. Even worse, just when you think they intend it just as a quick background gag, the next scene is a close-up where he's not only shown anatomically correct for a pig*, but starts getting an erection when he sees the Disney-esque racist white chick sitting there crying.

At the end they do a preview of the rest of the season (they must know people wouldn't want to tune in after seeing the first ep), which looked pretty cool until you realize that was every gag they have. It's like they condensed all the humor from the entire coming season, and it fit nicely into a 30 second montage.

I don't know. It's just so fucking wretched, and the pig thing just put it over the top. One of the few shows I'd flat out tell people to avoid at all costs.

As far as I know, no. That's what I was thinking as I saw it. I assume they have lawyers that looked it over and approved it, but I can't see how. It's not like it can be confused as a curly pig tail, since it's fairly detailed and his tail is clearly shown in the shot as well.

I think the grossest part is that the penis has a little head to it, which reminded me of the site that sells dildos shaped like animal penises marketed towards zoophiles. As I said, it was like some weird Twilight Zone experiance where I momentarily slipped into some alternate dimension where furry porn has spilled out into the offline 'real world'.

I think one of the problems is the FCC runs the show like a bunch of gangsters. They don't really have any rules, which means they can bring the hammer down depending on how powerful they feel they are at the time. Right now thanks to a pair of has-been pop stars they're feeling pretty full of themselves.

As for as what can be shown, we know NYPD Blue has done brief nudity and Schindlers List has been broadcast uncut and unedited on ABC. The first case was probably worked out beforehand and the public approved of it, the second case was the same plus it had the backing of some powerful Jews.

For cable, really I haven't seen as much explict stuff as you'd imagine they could get away with. South Park of course, and some music videos come to mind. MTV only showed the video for Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up a few times late at night, but even then because it was really good and they figured it'd help them maintain an image of artistic credibility and edginess (as opposed to the reality of them being one of the most prepackaged, corporate networks out there today).

And from what I understand premium channels like HBO and Cinemax still can't show an erect penis or open vagina without getting an X rating, and even the pay-per-view porn outlets can't show penetration.

How much of all this is self imposed and how much is just fear of the FCC is never clear, so it's just my guessing. For the most part the FCC doesn't have any rules, and therefore doesn't have to follow any rules, but they do have unlimited resources. They can't really be fought with money, and that's what makes them so scary to so many network execs.

The Janet boobage issue was also because it took place during an event that kids were likely to be watching. So, a bazillion self-proclaimed do-gooders got up in arms crying, "Think of the children!!!!!!" Since it was on one of the national stations, it was also something anyone could access. On top of all of that, it was totally unexpected. One doesn't normally tune into a football game expecting to see some Jackon sibling's flappy old boob. While it was inappropriate, I personally don't think it was worth all of the buzz.

With Comedy Central, it's a pay channel. I assume the show also has disclaimers when it comes back from commercial and all, stating that what is about to be shown may be offensive and crap. They've also shown boobs and dicks on South Park, plus the occasional episode where they can actually say "shit." So, not only can they at least attempt to defend themselves by saying you know what you're getting into if you choose to watch past all of the warnings and such.

I haven't seen the show yet. I don't even watch CC enough to see commercials for when it's on. CC seems to be slipping, I think. They used to have a fair number of shows that were amusing, and it was nice to know that in the wee hours, you could always tune in and see stand up comedy. I loved Win Ben Stein's Money. Now, however, it's a few shows with a lot of filler from lame 80's movies. And the shows they do show are just to in-jokey and heavy-handedly topical. When they do something like using "ground breaking" cuss words or showing poorly drawn tits or dicks, it comes off as forced. It's like a Mt. Dew commercial... a carefully-planned corporate strategy operating under the guise of being "edgy." Not to mention it's usually just in poor taste... like something geared for six year olds.

That, and the inclusion of moronic shit like sports updates intercut with video game footage as if it were from a real-life event (probably can be traced back some game developed by a subsidiary of Comcast, which wouldn't be surprising given the infomercial feel of the segments).

I'd imagine so. I caught the second episode (Tivo still had it on season pass), which now showed human characters with exposed nipples, penises and vaginas. Weird that even in Japan you don't see that.

Also, this episode was a little funnier. The plot centered around the Disney-esque princesses monster vagina, with dripping tenticles grabbing people and sucking them into her. WOW MAYBE I WILL KEEP WATCHING AFTER ALL

...or just cancel the season pass and do something else with that extra 25 minutes of my life.

After seening the show, I doubt it's the fox ears and tail that make people like Foxy. In fact, I'm sure that's probably the least thing about her people are paying attention to.

Frankly, the show is a bit TOO over the top for me, but the pikachu like thing Ling Ling is funny as hell due to it's lack of communication and being totally taken out of context on everything he says. (Loved seeing his Ash getting his guts ripped out, since the real pikachu was trying to kill the real Ash at the start of Pokemon (when it was somewhat entertaining).

Frankly, I'm willing to be this lasts at least 2 seasons just because of how crass it still has the chance of becoming.
