Unfortunately, it's not as cut and dry as that. Not that I want to defend the rationalizations of the delusional furries, but since "furry" is such a broad catch-all term, it also implies the simple enjoyment of anthropomorphics in comics and such. So, if by "furry is my hobby," someone means drawing anthro stuff and reading anthro comics is something they do as a recreational activity then, yeah, it is a hobby.
