I wonder, what the acceptablity of spooge and yiff will be like in 20 years or something.

I mean, hentai is starting to come around, and being umm more accepted, well more accepted then it was at least. I mean, look- i went to suncoast video stores the other day, and they TOO MUCH hentia. Kinda scared me, specially now that im 18 i could buy it... and i was temped ... till i realise that they are just cartoons, and that RAPE buy green tenticles doesnt get me going.

Still though- You couldnt find that crap 5 years ago in a place like that.

So, it begs to be asked, will tinytoon-esk and disney style porn show in store one day? Sadly I think it might. But then again, furries could stay to a pritty niche audience like it is now- god willing. Cus man, i fell bad for the soccer mom that picks up ZigZag's lucky day instead of ZipZaps, or Pepi-le-Pue classics.

Still, Furries doesnt have to sex realated, but just the adult theme of disney critter is kinda sketchy. Im not how well a record of lodoss war with looney toons would work out. I mean, their job and sterotype is to be happy and have fun, not be all bummed out about impending doom and depressed by the fact that they have killed hords of people (or critters) in the name of war.

Eitherway, i personally find sociaty and culture funny as hell, and i derrive much entertainment from observing it. I will just have to wait and see where furries go.

Uh yes. Mental masturbation no?

Furry pr0n exists.
Some of it is "quality", some of it is not to my tastes but is to other peoples.
Some of it is rather nasty.

Stuff.

...Furries will still be around, and they won't be any less sad. Personally I'd be fascinated as to who'd have burned out by then. I wonder - how many people involved in TEH FURIE would finally grow up, wake up and discover that they had sunk a huge portion of their lives into an ultimately unfulfilling fantasy?

As for "acceptance", that's dumb. Don't hold your breath. I mean, sure, the hentai-hardened geek crowd will be plenty used to the existance of furryporn, and more people will know that the fetish exists, but that hardly qualifies as "acceptance". "Acceptance", while clamored for by thousands of furfags, is not something they actually NEED. They will always be able to think, say and do* what they wanna think, say and do* and they will always be able to abuse the internet how they want to abuse the internet, and that's basically all the "acceptance" that they're entitled to. Maybe the furries will whine less about being seen as weird, and thus the outside world will care a hell of a ot less, but I have no real clue.

*within the law and stuff, but I'm hoping you already guessed that

well seriously

in 20 years i hope one of two things has happened

the furry fandom has completely disbanded ten years ago

or that the fandom has grown the fuck up
and is on par with other fandoms
as it gone back to the original charter
it still has its crazy fringe as all fandoms do, but thats all it is

in 20 years there will be a lot more mortality to the fandom also
which may may make fans a little more jaded and also bring some maturity
most "old" furries now are around 40-45-50
these are people who were into anthropomorphics and found/formed furry at age 18-19-20 in the early days

so 20 years from now , your probably gonna have a lot of the original guys dying off from old age - stuff like that (like sci fi fandom has got many older members)
even people who are not as active in group as they get older - they are still known, and news that like will make it around

i think there is alot of truth to the fact that furry fandom is still very young as far as fandoms go, and where its at may very well be growing pains
it really does look like its here to stay (where its headed - thats a mystery, only time will tell)

regardless of what any of you think of the fandom today, i think it should be considered that the fact it is still around is kind of a testament to the original ideas of it ..and does show that it would have, could have, still MIGHT be a very successful fandom
or at the very least it was originally geared to be

it might deteriorate into a total fetish culture (it aint yet)

but seriously , before that can happen the comics will stop being printed
thats how you'll know the instant it happens, if you wanna watch for it

if SFA , MU and Radio fold
its all over

Wouldn't hold my breath. It would seem that the weird, lonely, ostrasized 18-year-old who attends a convention just to seek out relationships with his "own kind" is probably going to mature rather ungracefully.

A note to the "mature" old school fogeys and new furry whelps alike... the young fans will grow up, mature, but there will always be a new wave of immature fans nipping on their heals, just as you have today...
As long as people keep having babies, new blood will always be finding the fandom, and as they will most likely be finding it through contact with media hype followed by an internet search, it's likely they'll be more and more crazy and in larger and larger numbers.

Me, I'm an artist, not coming out and saying who, been around a long time, though I'm not in the Beiro/Gallacci/Collins/Groat groat of ancients. I draw porn, I draw tame stuff, I don't fursuit, I don't fuck plushies, but I could care less if someone else does. No matter how subdued and hitten they try to be, things like the upcoming CSI episode will always be looming... be gratefull they didn't latch on harder to the furs into bestiality and count your blessings.

heres just one more perspective though:

look at how many
goth/raver/poser furies there are now

i sometimes get the impression this clique is growing

people who are only in furry for the subculture or stigma associated with it
people who do this type of thing are typicall called 'posers'

and 'posers' typically do not really engage in what they are pretending they are a part of

so basically if furry fills up with posers, then eventually whatever the preblem was will be very very few people
it will change the makeup of the fandom

just a possibility, not likely

along the same lines though - its more realistic to look at the generational gaps between each wave of fans

furry attracts outcasts primarily
what was an 'outcast' 20 years ago is different than an outcast today

and a different attitude is there
i mean those really fucking crazy motherfuckers that showed up in the 90s
and nowadays its ravers, goths, and emo kids (this is MY age group, whatever its called..i thnk im 1-3 years too young to be gen x )

gen x (mtv, slackers), then gen y (forget what the description is here)...i dunno what there is now
what was it prior to gen x? i there was a "me generation" that in the 80's
they got this name for being materialistic ("my new jacket", "my new car", etc)

if you wanna watch this i think you can see the youngest (as in newest) places liek yerf, all those livejournal communities

they are all reading ozy and millie and jack and uploading emo/big pants pics to yerf or deviant art(orwhatever) and playing starfox and nintendo games

once in a while when i think of stuff like this i see hope in the fandom

yea its still stupid

but it isnt pants-shitting confurence 8 style HORROR

pick yer poison

Actually the opposing side for the baggy pant crew is a somewhat large group of pre 20's goth girls who constantly ramble about how their life sucks and how their friends are either BITCHES or ASSES, they also seem to have small fights between each other... I recall Neogeen had a fight with deadthin over a picture of her character killing the other ones character in deviantart or something... And the most frightening thing is that you see their characters redrawn everywhere.

holy shit that is fucking funny as hell

limp bizkit quote nice

its gonna take me like 20 minutes to finish this post now
i have a love/hate relationship with drama like this in general its why i stopped going to parties

anyway i was just gonna to give some idea
rightnow I AM WEARING my jncos with the stripes downthe side..and theier CUFFED and a frank kozik 'lil' sarcopy' image t-shirt
cuz im 1/2 kar kulture white trash and 1/2 punk rock

lil sarcopty is a overly cute chipmunk face on a space with dice around it
i like rat fink stuff too

you can clearly see where i made a wrong turn at albuquerque
and wound up at furry

anyhoo
im saying if you went and took all the partial-birth abortions like the quozl's of furry, and replaced them all with bitchy, altho potentially HOTTIE goth / punk girls

then it would be kind of .. uh cool ?

like when i seen that kimmel show clip and they showed the girl in the cat suit
cmon ther aint girls like that in furry who the fuck u foolin kimmel

altho most of america is fat and or ugly
seee i work at a bank..an office
and the female staff outnumbers the males by quite a bit
its a collections office ..all bitchy married fat ladies
theres some hot college girls ther but not many

adn the ones that arnt fat i always overhear em talkin about how they control thier boyfriends and shit
fuckin a
thats why im probabaly gonna wind up being one of those husbands that works...ALL THE TIME
then as soon as i get hoome ill go work on the car in the garage...then immediatly goto sleep

or option b
ill wind up as one of those 'creepy' husbands that look at porn (furry?) all the time

so anytime you see guys acting like this
you can think back tothis post and youll know why

i dont knwo if your female or not , so if i offended you with any of that , sorry

Actually their introductions are quite interesting too...

Case studies of four individual furry goth artist girls;

Dirty Pair One

huskie666.deviantart.com
#1: Huskie, aka Mayra Boyle
-Age: 19
-Fetishes: Animals, apparently, and long-haired boys in make-up and lingerie.
Which gives me the conclusion that this persons ideal mate would be Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame.
-Interests: Apparently has consumed drugs of several kinds, and is interested in rats and boyfriends.
-Art: hand colored, inked (possibly prismacolor) depictions of self and other characters consisting mainly of canines.

zeriara.deviantart.com
#2: Zeriara, aka Holly Ramirez
-Age: currently 18
-Dreams about: Freddy Krueger, Darth Maul
Bald and creepy, Ideal mate would possibly be WWE:s Kane (or, Toad)
-UnInterests: Zer-haters, whiners, toad-fan-wannabes (scary...)
-Art: Varies from hand-colored to photoshopped. Quite qood, actually. Mostly own character, and friends characters.

Conclusion: Both seem to get their ideas from their or their friends characters, both are actually on the pureyiff gallery, both have childhood issues, both are relatively attractive, and neither seem to be interested in normal men. Hard to say, what will be 20 years from now, possibly work as a professional, maybe growing out from the gothy look (like most of the 80's Cure/Bauhaus goths.)

This is a start, if someone wants to give other examples, feel free to go on.

If all the Archives which accept “furry” art were to ban all pictures with the word “angst”, “depression”, “drugs”, "emotional", "my mate" and “my character” in the title or description....

...I’m sure that that their quality would improve immeasurably overnight.

(Has anything good ever come from people drawing their dreary and unoriginal candy raving gothy whingeing characters over and over? I doubt it)

If deviant art was shut down, the entire world might benefit significently.

If one were to spray all the Goths with Goth-B-Gone, the world might be a better place.

If one were to beat all the candy ravers to death with their glowsticks, the world might also be a better place.

The only comfort I can take is that they will all grow out of it in a few years time. And Fashions might have changed, But you can be sure that it's all a cycle. Probably in 20 years time, Candy raveing and Whingeing Goths will be back in fashion.

Most young people everywhere (yes, even me) are notoriously stupid and ignorant. It’s only to be expected.

Now, Being young, they want to attract attention to themselves and be different to their parents, rebel against society and all that lot.

Thus, the do stupid things in the hope of getting attention et al.

It's often the ones who try to be the most different as young people, who end up the most normal and conservative citizens afterwards.

If you look at student radicals a surprising amount grows up to be conservatives. (Like er... David Blunkett)
And I expect this pattern repeats itself with these kind of people.

Nevermind that Mayra is also reputedly a huge "zoophile". This is unfortunately not the stuff of the hokey but harmless new Hot Topic era that was hoped for.

The gal's art is atrociously ugly anyways. Besides having Kim Keister nipping at her heels for a few months there, no redeeming quality whatsoever. I seriously believe she's one of those artists who only owes their popularity to two things: pretty as far as furry standards go and kinky. After all, there's got to be a thousand goofy goth-style artists out there, and they all know their way around photoshop or a pack of prismacolors far better than she does. Yet she's the name that always comes up whenever anyone speaks of this style in particular.

This is just a minor clarification, but anime porn (or hentai, if you prefer) has been available at Suncoast for nearly a decade. In 1995, one could walk into stores and find stuff like La Blue Girl and Guy: Double Target sitting on the shelves alongside Battle Angel, Bubblegum Crisis, and Tenchi Muyo.

As a matter of fact, both of them have zoophile gallery sections at pureyiff, now that I recall.
