Hi guys pretty minor but I don't have the guts to look for rougher stuff after the Rabbit Pens incident. But I thought I'd share this joyfully awful "shrine"

http://www.andrews.edu/~drazen/sallyrip.html

Reminds me of all those Gonterman comics. I hope you like the Princess Di part.

The poetry is abysmal, as can be expected. Some real gems:

Oh sister that I never had
You've gone and left me alone
I wait by myself in your room
While those who hardly knew you cry the night away.

Because I cannot cry
Or profess my emotion otherwise
They believe that I could not love
But I knew you better than some who called you their love.

Though I was always at your side
I was rarely noticed
I was there in your darkest hours
Loyally seeing that you had a friend to talk to.

No one here knows me
Not like you do
So I am truly alone
And I have failed in my purpose to always be at your side.

If I had eyes, I would weep
If I had lungs, I would sob
If I had lips, I would kiss your could lips
But I have none, So I say goodbye in the only way I can.

I love you Sally.

UGH.

"And you know, like, it's ironic
They all think it was Sonic
I feel sick now, give me tonic
They all think that it was Sonic
@#$%"

What? No wonder no one takes America seriously. Everybody keeps writing shit like this.

And so on and so forth. I wish I could say more, but I feel my will to live slowly melting away.

Looking back at the poems - and I use the term loosely - some of them are in foreign languages (like Latin) because the writers are just so dedicated. Others are ripped-off song lyrics. Some are even supposed to be sung like this one:

You were always there for me.
The tender wind that carried me.
A light in the dark shining your love into my life.
Youu've been my inspiration.
Through the lies you were the truth,
My world is so out of place without you.

It's supposed to be sung to the tune of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Problem is, the syllables are off. Unless you sing some lines really quickly, it's not going to work. Idiots.

Y'know what makes this sadder?

Sally appeared to die in Endgame pt. 1, and it was revealed in the very next issue that she was still alive. Which means these losers did all this obsessive shit IN THE SPAN OF A MONTH!

Hell, I've always been a Robotnik fan, and when he died, I was able to move on with my life. And hell, he really DID die. Vaporized and everything.

You know, when I saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, I was upset when Spock died. Until I learned about III coming out, I couldn't watch the end of that.

But..... I WAS 8 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME.

I mean.. this is a cartoon squirrel (no offense, Donny) and a blue hedgehog from a 16-bit video game. It has about as much pertinence as the cancellation of Father of the Pride.

Well, it turns out that the tease of Sally's death in the "Endgame" story arc proved to be just that: a tease, a come-on, a gimmick. It was all undone in issue #50. Not that Ken Penders wouldn't have wanted her to STAY dead! According to a recent post, he had originally intended that the "Sally" to have been awakened in #50 be yet another double. Sonic would have discovered this after about a year, during which Sally would have exhibited uncharacteristic behavior and the two would have drifted apart. This plot line did not fly in story conference, and since Ken is going to be spending most of his time working on Knuckles stories, it's been shelved.
Yet I do not regret having established this Cybershrine. There were, after all, those fans who took it seriously enough to feel serious loss at Sally's apparent death, and this site became a place to express the very real feelings of grief and loss they experienced as a result.

Let this site therefore stand as a Monument to the love that the fans felt for Sally, as well as the miscalculation by Archie Comics as to the reaction of the fans.

Besides, you never know when Ken will try to pitch that angle again!

Yah... let it stand as a testament to the obsessive nature of people with so little life that they make otaku look cool. I almost have to wonder if this Ken Penders fellow knew how obsessive the fans were and set out on a mission to seriously fuck with them.

And now, my tribute to the would-be corpse:

Two tits, a tail,
A perky ass,
But now you're buried
In the grass.

We put you in a shoebox
In the back yard.
Covered in soil,
So cold and hard.

We would have flushed you.
But your body's too wide.
Unlike the goldfish,
Your furry hide,
Would have choked the plumbing
And backed up the drains.
Getting a plumber on Sunday,
Is really a pain.

I remember the fanfics
Where we'd lie in the grass.
And I'd profess my love
While nailing your ass.

But now I stare at your grave,
And I weep like a wussy.
For no longer will my fursona,
Know the warmth of your pussy.

Your life for their freedom,
Was the price you paid.
I can't be without you!
Sally, I brought a spade.

That butterball Sonic
Couldn't keep you from harm.
So I'll dig you up.
And hold you in my arms.

Without you to bang,
My heart knows such ache.
But, hey, no one's looking.
Once more.
For old time's sake.

It was a beutiful poem Zen-Zhu, and it truely did bring tears to my eyes...TEARS OF LAUGHTER!! :D You konw Sally really is not that hot her head's to goddamn big for one thing, and what she's like 3 foot 4 right not that tall so you'd basically be doing the sign of the humped back weasel with a midget. Plus the Princess Di thing was just to funny and it brings up what someone here said earlier that furries really latch onto the deaths of famous people to further their own characters. Anyway the sight makes me sick on many levels.

So if the official comics do this...she can suit the fantasy of any fanboy!

Dedicated to Tamagochi generation.
Here had loooooooooong queues to buy a tamagochi. Children crying hard when that icon ”dies”. Peoples buying ugly robot-dogs because they don’t does poo and pee.
On the other hand, these competition society turned the peoples insensitives ones. Child being thrown away from buildings tops by other child or their heads cut off by other infants.

I fixed some bad engrish. =:•P

I think the saddest part is as Shmeckopolis said, that all this was done in under a month. Over a freakin' cartoon character!

Let's see, Sonic, Tails, Amy etc. Are owned by Sega. Sally, Bunnie, Rotor are owned by ... uh, someone.

Personally, I think it would be hell of funny if Archie killed of one of Sega's official Sonic characters.

Sega: We're going to publish a new Sonic game, and it's going to feature Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose.
Archie: Oh, I'm sorry. You can't do that. We killed off Tails in the our last issue. Including him would ruin our continuity.
Sega: The Hell? He's our character. How the could you kill him?
Archie: He was drugged, roboticized, and run over by a truck.

They did that, they killed off Knuckles the Echidna in the knuckles comic. The sonic continuity has about 5 different storylines so something that happens in one doesn't always reflect in the others.

I shall now reflect on how sad it is that I know that, I'm a sonic geek :P

Actually, except for that 25 years later arc, which is about as entertaining as a log that's not from Ren and Stimpy, they do all tie in together.

Sorry Scmeck, but Sonic The comic by fleetway is something totally different to archies sonic comic and knuckles comic, the japanese games/comics also have a somewhat different storyline. What about Sonic underground? That was a completely new plotline by itself.

Hajimemashite to you to Zen-Zhu I know one word in Japanesse and it was a good time to prove it. I have never read the Sonic comics in any way or form so I to me the whole thing about Sally really just seems so out there and strange to me. Oh Stoneth The Sally Protest comic was what made me seek out the shrine it was so funny and sad at the same time. Poor Ken Penders to, I mean it looks like these guys want him dead and buried for fake killing a cartoon character, and they did all this whining in a month thats got to be a record.

True that, Mastertran. I still remember back when Yerf (known then as SCFA) got flooded with Sonic pics right arround Sally's death. Amazing what some people will go through over fictional characters.

I'll admit I cried when Optimus Prime died in the Transformers movie, but the thought never crossed my mind to make an online shrine to him and write many lines of bad poetry in his honer. (Then again, the Internet wasn't widely availabley back then.)

Ooooooooh, THOSE. Lil' miscommunication'in'in on mah part. Thoughtcha meant Archie's other Sonic spinoffs.

And to be on topic, I can't help but he infinitely curious as to whether or not Ken Penders has ever said anything about this shit on record.... and if they wrote down his laugh....

Yeah, I meant really nothing ties in unless you follow one storyline and ignore the others.

Ken Penders probably thought the whole thing hilarious :P And I wouldn't blame him, though I think the only real tragedy about Knuckles dying was how badly it was handled, the characters grieved for five seconds then started acting like nothing major had happened. :? But still the amount of fixated sonic fans scares me. Some of the Sally fans even have produced oddles of images of Sally tearing apart Mina mongoose for flirting with sonic, now how's that for obsessed.

Yeah, alot of Sonic fans can be very annoyingly, let's be frank, dorky. It's been especially annoying in that I like to talk about things I like with other people, and one can't really find many Archie Sonic fans who aren't creepy and/or sad. I think I've found 5 in total who are decent. The rest, for instance, cared waaaaay too much about that whole Sonic-Mina-Sally thing.

I think the worst-handled death I've ever seen was Cypher in The New Mutants. I forget the details of his death now, but I recall thinking the only reason they were really killing him off was because they didn't know what to do with the character. For those that don't know, Cypher had the mutant ability to speak, read, and write any language after hearing and seeing a little of it (he could speak it after hearing it, and read and write it after seeing it). For those without any real imagination, this seemed like a very limiting power. It came in handy when they came across foreigners, or otherdimensional aliens or something like that, but it was considered an otherwise useless ability.

Years ago, a couple of friends and I were BSing about the character, and mused how, really, they wiped him out before they realized his true potential. Since computer code is, effectively, a language, and his power gave him unique decryption abilities, he could have been an ace hacker. Body language is a form of communication his power could have made him more attuned to, making him more able to read the subtle hints people give off when they're lying and all. In fact, I think he used such an ability in a poker game once in an issue drawn by Art Leonardi. This, of course, would help him in detective-type work, as well as made him better able to read his opponent's intentions in a fight. So, they could have trained him up as a martial artist, too. In all, if Marvel had opened their minds a bit to the possibilities of his powers letting him be specially-attuned to the multiple forms of communication that exist, he could have been quite powerful.

Instead, they figured "So, the boy can read Chinese in 5 seconds. What kind of power is THAT!?!" And, they nixed him.

Of course, it was rather fun to see Warlock.. who was a shapeshifting robotic alien who could merge with Cypher.. try and bring him back by reanimating his corpse.... and having him walk around as little more than a meat puppet.

I believe they brought him back. From what I've heard, Ken Penders has a habit of killing off characters and then bringing them back later, even if they're such minor characters nobody cares about them.

He really only did it twice. Three times if you count Robotnik, who didn't really get resurrected so much as they just brought in another Robotnik.

Let me rephrase that. I've heard that Ken Penders has a habit of introducing characters that are killed off, but not really. We think they're dead, but they're not.

As for Robotnik, I think he was killed another time in an atomic explosion. Then he downloaded himself into another body from the internet. I'm not kidding.

Edit: Whoops, my mistake. Apparently, the internet downloading took place after he was blown up a third time with a stick of TNT, and then after he was blown up yet again with a grenade. I'm still not kidding. I think he stopped dying after that.

If I'm not one of the 5 you should make that 6, I'm a huge sonic fan but I'm not a dork over it. I wasn't bothered about sonic-mina-sally, I thought it was an interesting addition, though archie comic are a pain in the neck to buy here.

As for knuckles, he later returned apparently, he's something called the avatar and there's whole bunch of prophecy mixed up with him.

Yay! Someone else just thought it was an interesting addition! God I got so tired of people giving too many shits about that plotline...

And you can get older issues easy with the magic of Bittorrent.

Kinda. The second Robotnik was a self-Roboticized one from another universe (Archie introduced a multiverse early on in the series). RoboRobotnik (who had taken over his respective world) was the one who replaced the deceased Robotnik, and his big schtick is his brain is computerized, so if his body is destroyed, he just downloads himself into a new body.

Damn me for my incorrect information. As for Robo-Robotnik, the thought of him constantly downloading himself into new bodies every time he's killed gets old fast.

I remember watching the TV show a couple of times. Read some of the comic at a cousin's house before.

Then I got the interweb, and the sonic fandom scared the shit out of me. It's just got this weird feeling to it that I can't quite put my finger on.

To be honest, I fell out out of love with the Archie comic. The first few dozen issues were mainly mindless fun, but after Sally "died", the comic became dramatic and dull, like X-Men.

You mean how they tend to take it WAY too fuggin' seriously? I swear they can be one part D&D nerd, one part furry, one part convention whore, all frightening.

Heheheh, yeah, standing frozen for a half hour until his evil plan loads so he can tell it, and when it does, his speech is all choppy from the buffering.

Nuthin wrong with a good old bit of nerdiness, The problem is when it's taken too far. Can you believe there are actually fans out there who are in favour of a sonic and robotnik relationship? The very idea of robotnik having sex let alone with sonic makes part of my brain die.

Besides there's nothing like a good morning of swearing at the blue pincushion :D

The only thing the bugs me about the Sonic fandom is all the gits that decided Tails, being underaged, is cute and screwable. Doesn't help that a lot of them came into the furry fandom is basically created what we now call PedoPhurs.

Filthy buggers.

I agree, There's something disturbing about Tails/cream porn. Mind you the game designers don't help, Did they really have to ensure Amy and cream both flashed their underwear in almost every scene of Sonic heroes? I really wanted to know what color panties they were wearing  Before anyone asks, I didn't notice this, a fellow sonic fan pointed it out to me ... well the amy panty flashes anyway.

Hell, the Japanese will make just about anything flash its panties. Not that there's really anything mentally scarring about that, other than seeing something like Totoro and thinking "The girl is 5 years old! I do NOT want to see her panties!!" I don't quite get the whole panties thing. I can understand the allure of what's beneath... but I have no love lost on the garments themselves.

Although, the second episode of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi revolves around panties, and is, IMO, one of the funniest episodes in that set.

Now that I think about it.... I've never seen a panty flash in Inuyasha. Maybe CN cuts them out, but there's nothing on the DVDs I have, either. Not that I want to see Kagome's panties.. but it's interesting to note she just kind of has this odd dimensional vortex where her legs go up into her skirt, and then they just go off into otherspace or something.

For that matter, why is she wearing a schoolgirl outfit for trekking around feudal Japan? (The answer is obvious, of course.) I mean... I'd be raiding REI for cargo pants, a good back pack, and some comfy hiking boots...... not to mention introducing those feudal primates to some of the innovations of the past hundred years.

Say hello to my BOOMSTICK!

It's all about mo(e)' pantsu.

Say hello to my BOOMSTICK!

Show smart, shop S-Mart.

There's also the whole 'disrupting the time/space continuum and possibly imploding of the universe thing. Personally, I'd rather know some magic tricks or have some amazing piece of technology to make them think I'm a wizard or god. :)

Side note: Have any of you seen the McDonald's commercial with the Sonic characters/handheld games? Good job raping your mascot, Sega.

Wayd jokes are kinda like Waldo; they're everywhere, and finding them is always fun. Though I never did hear him mention his wife's boobs that much. His "god like rage of fury" yeah, but not so much the boobies.

Anyway, you wanna see twisted Sonic shit? Go to Sheezy Art and, like the dumbass I am, turn adult pics on for laughs.

No, mommy, I don't want to see a 50 foot Amy get a train in her coocher. No, daddy, I don't want to see 40,000 horribly drawn picture of Rouge the bat in what I think is sexual positions. I don't know. The drawings are so bad they're almost Escher-like in their shitacularness.

Not to mention Tojyo's damn masturbating Tails pic that keeps popping up no matter how much I'd like to get away from it. God, why do I keep stumbling into this shit when I don't even look for it?!

Ratio of me to CYD posters in mentioning my wife's rack: 1 to 6 x 10 ^ 21.

Thank you all for your efforts in using a lack of a firm grasp of the obvious and legendary mental denseness in the continuing destruction of any relevance of CYD.

Also, for showing that nothing has changed in that comedy should never be attempted by those without a skill for it.

Heh. Well, usually I'm not looking for it. Sometimes, because I have a train wreck sense of humor, I'll have a looksie at shit like that (in SA's case, it was "they put Adult shit on here?! I gotta see this, it'll be hilarious", and it was). But alot of times, I DON'T look for it, as I'm just a-browsin' and a-cruisin' the internets (all 3 of 'em), and in those occasions, I find WORSE shit.

Here.. have a cute Chinese girl to distract you.

Then you don't want to see the anime "Bakunyu" Hyper-Battle Ikki Tousen based off the manga (US version ) Battle Vixens. Man, there's panty shots galore. Nice fight scenes, but you can't get passed the opening credits and not be hit with a panty shot.

Well, that's what you get for putting your hand in fire. Not a big learning curve for folks looking for adult art not to expect to see really badly drawn adult art on an amature art gallery with the word Sheezy in it.

Well, that's what you get for putting your hand in fire. Not a big learning curve for folks looking for adult art not to expect to see really badly drawn adult art on an amature art gallery with the word Sheezy in it.

It's not the Sheezy Art stuf that's the problem. I kid about it, but all in all, it's not that big of a problem, and I find it rather funny (again, train wreck humor).

The part that bugs me (though not THAT much, I exaggerate a bit much)is finding the stuff when I don't wanna/don't look for it. When I'm just cruisin' the net, whistlin' a jaunty song, not diving into the UNDERNET OMG, I don't want to be hit with Sonic and Tails giving a whole new meaning to the word "partner".
