At sheezyART you now have to be a registered member who is 18 years or older to view adult art. Random visitors will no longer be able to view the horrible spooge art within without registering first.

If you are found lying about your age, you get banned. It isn't a perfect system, but its better than the "You PROMISE that your 18?" button.

I believe that covering up the massive amounts of spooge art will help attract artists who are more interested in art rather than what to jack off to. Thoughts?

I dont think it matters. It may be a little more responsible doing it that way. Theres a lot more thats more important Im sure. Depends on who they want I guess.

What is Sheezy Arts angle anyway? I think a gallery should fill a specific purpose.

DeviantArt is just massive, that Side7 is all kinds of fan art, VCL and Yerf are furry, etc etc

During the first few months of its conception SheezyART was swamped with furries and angry people from DA who were mad that they were banned for uploading adult art.

SheezyART is then swamped with horrid adult art, mostly furry.

Lately things have been slowing down and now there is an even number of porn vs. clean art.

Then they added the age policy, protecting them from being sued if a parent gets angry at them. Sure, kids can still lie, but SheezyART isn't responsible for that.

I assume that SheezyArt wants to be a massive art community like DA, only with custom features, porn access, and no cost.

I don't know how long the site will last without pay features since its getting more popular by the day. If they manage to create something much broader than DA is now, they'll be swamped. And no matter how much the members cry: "Capitalism is teh ebil!" they'll have to make their money somewhere. Through upgrades, or really obnoxious ads.

Not that I really care either way , but Im now thinking of a 3rd option.

Ads, well thats just not thinking big enough. And a free service that goes pay is BS, pisses people off, and is virtually guaranteed to lose a lot of what it had. Especially since I take it this site is new.

I think they'd be far better off going a way more professional route. Like if I were them, I'd try to work it so that they are some sort of middleman for freelance artists. Getting in contact with people looking for illustrators, graphic deisgners, or whatever and refering arists and at the same time serving as a resource for artists looking for jobs or just any freelance work.

Its a hell of a lot more difficult, and Im not saying that would be easy. But huge services like monster.com and a bunch of other unkonwn ones (I had a friend who worked for a .com in Buffalo doing real estate appraiser referals) - much bigger money in it if you succeed.

I dont have much faith in Sheezy Art at the moment. It doesn't feel like it will be around very long. When they first started out, everything was wiped of and everyone had to start from scratch with their accounts again. I don't entirely trust it.

I think they MUST be aiming towards furries as they had a furry mascot at the beginning. I think they took it down because teh mascot was giving off a 'kids' image when theres so much porn.

Not so! If you're not registered and you want your pr0n fix (this picture for example), all you have to do is click through the silly "Continue" link. And if you are registered and under the age of 18, all you have to do is-- ZOMG-- not sign in, and click through the "Continue" link! K-rad HaX0rInG d00dZ!!!
Okay, so Channel Cat & co. probably wanted to do the minimum necessary to comply with Teh Law, not necessarily to make it easy for the kiddies to see Mrs Incredible touching herself, but just to keep their own site-coding hassles to a minimum. Still, this is a heck of a big hole (huhuhuhuhuh he said hole), and we probably haven't seen the last of this issue. After all, where there's smoke, there's fire, and where there's furry fandom, there's pjorn, right?

Okay, I just read the incredibly stretching mrs. Incredible and a big hole in the same post. This mental image will require a LOT of alcohol to wash out of my mind.

I'm kinda fuzzy today, not sure what you mean but....

That coming from a Finn, if it takes "a LOT", I'm not even going to scroll up to find out ;)

Adult art's over rated and over done. Not enough people with real creativity to make the work "Adult" (which doesn't necessarily have to mean dick in pussy). Most work is just tired old sex with over exaggerated facial expressions, poorly drawn or massively drawn organs, with little creativity.

Now there are folks out there that can make a really good adult piece of artwork, and even a good spooge piece of artwork, problem is, there aren't enough.

I didn't draw and show a picture of a nake bodied character until I KNEW I could draw the body first.

Also doesn't hurt to have actually seen what you're drawing either.

That is why I love you. It's also why I'm glad the script for the comic is in your hands alone and inmune to the fans's screaming bloodlust cries for smut, their fursonas added to the team and other BS.

But yes, there's far too many people cranking out porn before they can draw the body right.

Back on SA, their servers are fucking slow as shit.

I'm so glad I didn't get sucked in to becoming a spooge artist when I was young and cared about trying to be popular. I actually stand a chance of actually getting a job as an illustrator this way.

Spooge art is not the kiss of death that a lot of people think it is, mostly that comes from the amount of furries who wanted to work for disney back when it was still possible, Disney would never hire a spooge artist.

But most art directors couldn't give two shakes what you draw in your spare time so long as you produce the goods on time and to a standard.

It's also what your spooge says about you. If it's something fairly tame and sensual, like some of the stuf Megan Giles has taken down from VCL, or at least silly... like Max Black Rabbit's stuff... it can actually showcase your work while expressing your mature side. If, however, it's reams and reams of ego-stoking pictures of your own character, like NightKrawler/Nacht or fucked up like Steve Burt... that just shows too much of your personal dark side to be showing to potential employers.
