Can anyone give me the story on EatAllFurries?

I've heard about it here and there, but never thought to look it up until recently. At first glance it seems to be akin to CYD (totaly destroying my naively innocent idea that CYD was one-of-a-kind).

The thing is those shitty pop-up ads look kind of trashy, and make me feel like I can't be bothered to register and browse it myself (I'd expect I'd get signed up for a bunch of spam or some shit). Is anyone here familier with the place that could give a good review/rundown?

But, eh, Eat All Furries started out I think in 2003 as a pretty lively and funny LJ community and eventually ended up being canned in January '04 following some fabricated complaints by some whinging furry, causing some speculation as to the precise furriness of the LJ admins (VERY). It then started up as an ezboard forum, also very lively, defeating a couple of attempts by outraged furries to have it shut down (one fatuous attempt being based on the claim that it since it was anti-furry that meant it was a "gay bashing" board) and then I peeked in one day and the whole thing had been locked down on or about 9/10/04 since that's the last date showing. I can only presume the admin got bored with it.

When you read the thread about Pink that was just locked, that was basically ALL of what EAF was....just insulting for the fun of it basically. Most newbies to the board got smashed to bits by the regulars. Eventually some guy started banning anyone who spoke which was quite funny and didn't seem to make much sense. Lats time I checked they'd banned everyone. I haven't bothered looking for a looong while, so like Mitch says, I guess they shut it down and god bored.

It had to happen evetually though, there was no real disscussion like this place has.

I used to post messages on EAF a while back .. I will say the core/original members of that group were pretty cool people,

Most of the other people that showed up later were fucking idiots tho. AFAIK thats what actually ruined that community.

Starting a community on a service like LJ is obviously going to attract all the wrong clientele.. which it did. I didn't follow them over to their ezboard but as stated, it was abandonded by whoever who handed it over to the guy who was banning everyone (that actually was pretty damn funny, Thats only time i checked back on that to see the damage)

Also just in general, when you have a community like that one was, where everyone just does the same shit all the time. Its not going to last only because eventually,what is there going to be left to talk about? Everybody agreeing all the time, or waiting for some furry to show up so the entire group can line up to respond virtually in unison? shit gets boring fast.

I think I'd like to start defending the artistic merits of hermaphrodite -taur porn, just for the fuck of it. ...Because I probably could.

Oh actually, I just looked and the ezboard is still there, just made private. You either need a password oh just not to be banned or whatever. God knows if people actually still chat there though.

I was on EAF for a couple of months. It tried to be CYD, but just couldn't get past one-line posts and the high school cliquishness. Whereas CYD consists of people that are either presently familiar with the furry scene, or were historically involved with it, EAF consists primarily of newbies who heard about furrydom from SomethingAwful or Portal of Evil and decided to make their own little place to bash furries. They don't have any perspective on what furrydom was compared to what it is. They don't know about Mark Merlino and crew. All they do is spot some recent bit of angstwhoring and poke at the furry like a bunch if kids giggling at the video clip of a monkey peeing into its own mouth.

EAF is to furry bashing what rich white 13-year olds are to gangsta rap. They're posers.

On top of which, they're not content to pick on furries. They rip into newbies like a pack of hyenas into a kill. If you're sig image is larger than 5 pixels tall or if your avatar ISN'T from Underworld, then they'll harp on you just as bad as Pinkie or any other hackangsty furry artist. It's just a bunch of kids spewing bile at something they have no understanding of.

You might say EAF is everything CYD is erroneously accused of being.

I've always been puzzled -and a little awed- at people who can take pride in having a history in furry. It just seems like something I'd want to play down and put behind me, as if it never happened, though maybe there is a little something to be said for having survived it, or having been there and seen it before it supposedly 'turned'.

i have heard rumors that following the affiliation of many EAF mods and admins with a certain shadowy organization known only as COTI there began to be a conspiracy in place where the intended purpose of EAF was no longer to document the what may be considered as the furry malaise but instead to bait many of EAF's more tedious forum regulars itself. there was soon after a conspiracy to finish the EAF project on the closing date of September the 11th, a precursor to which was the appointment of one individual, who uses the screen-name of Stiv, to a moderating position wherein his only responsibility was to ban everyone who posted leading up to this date

though i regret to say that i cannot disclose my sources at this time

The only part of this that I didnt know was that the admins knew who they were handing the forum over to, or that it was planned in advance.

:roll: So now it's trolling to tell someone the fucking truth? you know Coti may have made fun of the furry drama but they're just as bad at doing the drama dance themselves.

Edit: for the curious, someone came into dA's forums bitching because omg how awful someone had threatened to hack their account and they weren't happy that dA didn't ban him when they whined to the moderators. Then proceeded to abuse capslocks and a respected forum regular who corrected their attempt at japanese in their avatar.

I mean I wasn't aware that dA had to do what they say on a private server, you can't even get a threat to kill to stick unless you can prove there's a reasonable chance of the person actually managing it nowadays, a threat to hack? no chance. And most people here should know how hard it is to hack a sensible password, anyone with sense would have realised it was just a tard blowing hot air and refrained from doing a drama-tard dance over it, while using the energy saved from not being a whiner to ensure the password was hard to crack.

Yeah but when they repeat themselves over and over there comes a point where it's not funny anymore like the thin skinned miss who was drama whoring over her threads being locked and whining because she got labelled a wannabe and a emo on the dA forums earlier, god I've met bricks with more sense than her. There reached a point where her comments became merely inane rather than amusing to read.
