I couldn't stop laughing. The show would never have aired here.

I died laughing the first time I saw this. Pretty sick, considering that's a real children's show. (But I don't think that ever aired.)

For those of you who don't know, "Rainbow" was a credible childrens TV show from the 70's and 80's. This clip was actually broadcast and watched by millions.

*cough* :)

I've actually seen that show a few times. They seem sto explain the concept of clocks fairly frequently. But I never figured out why that one yellow puppet has a zipper on its mouth.

Those wacky British! Speaking of which, anyone here ever seen the maelstrom of psychodelic lunacy that is "The Magic Roundabout?"

Wow, that Rainbow clip is like some urban legend. No, it wasn't actually transmitted:
The VT department of each ITV company, every Christmas had a competition to enter all the outtakes from their particular companies programme out put, and see which ones were the funniest. But ours wasn’t an outtake, we specially did it. It was specially scripted and we did it and I never saw it! We did it and Thames won it, but what they actually won, I don’t know. But I never saw the video. I can’t remember much about it except for Zippy with a banana.

Still a laugh riot though for anyone who remembers the inane original show.

Special presentation or not, that first thing with the banana looks like a huge deformed penis. The bear looks like a big walking turd.

ROFLAO. Fuck me, that was funny. I ain't laughed so much in months, not since Channel 4 showed that repeat of the 'Chinese' episode of Father Ted.

Man, the BBFC musta been sleeping on the job when that one came up for aproval. Corse we have a long tradition of secreting crafty double entendres into kids shows. I mean, I found at least one reference to zoophilia of all things (!) in a recent Basil Brush episode. Ok it wasn't quite as "did he just say that?!?" as the Rainbow clip, but it was definately there. And that's just one I can point out from the top of my head. I'm sure the guy who did the voices for the remade Bill and Ben animations (he's in The Fast Show) said he was always hiding dirty words in their 'flobbalobba' like langauge.

I hear you're a racist now, father. Should we all be racists?

Theres a better quality (video at least) downloadable version of this that has been sitting at EbaumsWorld for a while, that site doesn't include any history tho, of course... http://media.ebaumsworld.com/index.php?e=rainbow.wmv

WTF, my cookies are messed up, alot of these articles should be labled as new or altered or whatever.. hmm

And too much 2d animation within a browser LOCKS MY USB PORTS, as well as causing clicking and other interference with the sound card, whats with THAT? PC hardware geeks?
I've tried altering the order of the cards as well as their interrupt affinity in the BIOS with no luck.. guess I need a new M-board

Strangest problem I've ever heard of, good thing I've fixed it on a few computers before. Sounds like you're running Windows XP with extremely old chipset INF files, I don't know what kind you have so here's the main links.
Intel Chipset
VIA Chipset (Common in AMD comps)
Nvidia Chipset (Also common in AMD comps)

If someone else other than those companies made your chipset and you can't find them tell me.
(I'm a loser, but I'll get the last laugh when I'm an 80 year old billionaire with all the chicks dammit)
