The original plan of Chinese food and strippers fell through due to me getting a cold, but I wasn't too sick to work so I spent the evening trying to get some sleep through the constant popping of fireworks and gunfire*. When I got up, got in my car and drove to work I just had this oddly blissful acceptance of the one-in-a-million chance a bullet could come down and kill me at any time.

I walked up to the front door to where I work a few minutes before 12:00, when I heard the sound of metal hitting metal somewhere behind me. The parking lot is empty, so the best I can figure is it was a bullet hitting something metal on one of the buildings, probably a post. At least it didn't hit my car.

*and when I say gunfire, I mean you could distinctively make out the sound of automatic weapons.

I got kicked out of a New Year's party for getting in a drunken fight with some redneck who kept calling me a Mexican Faggot I told him I'm an Arab and the President {I think} and it just made it worst. I got a call this morning from my father telling me that American new years are horrible and that I need to go back home where there's I nice girl who will clean and cook for me. Oh and my car's wind-shield wipers have been torn of by a bunch of kid's.

There's 20" (51cm) of snow standing on the ground. Despite my best wishes, I just fucking sat here and talked to drunken internet freaks.

And just where the hell are you? Around here, it was almost 60 yesterday, when it's usually about 20 on New Years'! You lucky bastard!

Did a watching marathon for the Shingetsutan Tsukihime episodes I hadn't yet seen on my new 14" iBook G4. It's worrying to think that there's a H-Game for it...

So I'm not a yob. Boo.

I let my mum have a turn of going out this year while I had to babysit my 17 year old autistic sister (we can't leave her on her own). I couldn't be arsed to have a house party as I'd already had one for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.

So we had a two-person party with a whole table full of snacks and party poppers. we watched 'Antz' on DVD, sang and danced around the living room on the karaoke and played Wario Ware and Super Smash Bros Melee on her Game Cube.

I was NOT happy about staying in at all to begin with, but it turned out to be a real fun night as I usually avoid my sister and her frequent tantrums.

I went to a party where I happened to meet "McDonalds Girl". McDonalds Girl works the counter at my local McDonalds, obviously. She told me some stories, the funniest one was about when she tried to deny servicing a customer out of concerns for his obesity.

Picture a hulking beastman who every other day thunders in at the local McDonalds an ALWAYS orders a Big Tasty meal, supersize fries + 5 (5!) cheeseburgers. The customer is always right....

(Cue Jaws theme......)

Me? I ate some shrimp poppers and played Baten Kaitos. Mmm. 8)

Say, wouldn't this be in off-topic?

Hmm, my brother's autistic (and 20) and I have to watch him quite a bit. He can get a little violent when he's angry and has attacked me on many occasions.

It kind of makes me wonder if any of this is related. Autism -> anti-social behavior -> and being a (ex) furry. But I'm probably wrong. More than likely a strange coincidence.

Okay, um, yeah that's all I really wanted to say. :?

Well, lessee, I spent the better part of three hours making pizzas for me and my family. They were far, far better than anything you could get from Papa John's or Domino's, or even Pizzeria Uno, but I don't know if they were worth three hours. Inbetween topping them, putting them in the oven, and taking them out, I watched parts of Something's Gotta Give. Earlier in the day, I went to a gunstore and lusted over the shiny toys, and went to Ikea and bought some curtains.

Then, once the ball dropped, we shouted, screamed, banged pots and pans, and promptly settled down.

Then we played whist for a while (it's kind of like bridge, but stupider).

Then I took some pills to put me out of my misery for the night, and developed a bad headache.

And that's why it was the worst New Years ever.

Me and my brother went to a party of about 70 or so people, 2 of whom I knew to any degree. In addition, the entire population of the party seemed to consist of REALLY REALLY loud nerds, hilariously-dressed ravers, overweight renaissance faire geeks, lisping hipsters in trenchcoats and really fat guys with bad facial hair; LOTS and LOTS of fat guys with bad facial hair, seems to be a trend or something. Thankfully, there was also an abundance of alcohol and several skilled bartenders there, so me and the few friends of mine that were there managed to find a somewhat secluded spot to get drunk in and occupy ourselves until midnight, whereupon we disappeared into the night, taking several bottles of liquor with us.

yay.

I spent the evening at home, alone, for no other reason that I couldn't be arsed to try and arrange anything or even find out if someone else had something going that I could invite myself to. This was the first New Year's eve I wasn't at a party/dinner... and the odd thing is I didn't mind. I enjoyed a nice quiet evening at home. It was just an unusual day to do that. Made some nice food, read a book, had some tea... surfed the net. Only New Year-ish thing I did was go out in the street to watch the fireworks. Oh well.
