In a semi-intoxicated bout of Bright Idea, I bought this:

http://www.fursecution.com/

What should I do with this domain?

Thoughts?

Also, if anyone has a great idea for something and can convince me, I'll give them the domain, hosting, existing database code, etc for free for them to do whatever they want with. It just has to provide a source of comedy.

And here is a copy of the fursuit article in all its glory, for those that have emailed me asking for a copy.

Vanity email addresses?

I honestly don't know if there needs to be another 'anti-furry' site, or if there is, how well it would fare. CYD, next to PoE and SA Forums is amongst the most well known - and you see how rare anything is offered here.

There's little more to be said. It was a hobby that turned into a kink, then that kink became sprained.

Kinda what I was thinking. Once I started to consider it, I realized it really wouldnt be that OMGLOL after all... But its paid for, so might as well do something.

If nothing else, I'll just try to find the most horrifying furry image I can, and put it up there, a la goatse

Also, the original intent was just to troll in order to drama up my inbox for comedy potential, but an explosion of drama-from-furries in my personal life has kind of burnt me out on that idea. (I never really wonder why I'm getting more and more bitter about everything.)

Also a friend pointed out that getting furries into an uproar is somehow like getting handicapped kids worked up. It's really easy to do, its only funny the first time, it gets old quickly, and you're probably going to hell for doing it.

I do think its a cool site, but I also agree with Rankin in the big picture

Half of the time I say something good about furry fandom is just because no one else is. :)

I stilll say eventually baggin on furries is just going to be old hat, and totally done to death. Like that dramapedia thread. Im mean, really, is there anything new at all on that site? Or even actually funny for that matter?

Im not totally shit talking talking those guys... but then again. At best that site could only serve to explain internet catchphrases and clique-sort of humor. The only stuff I find funny in furry fandom at this point is stuff that is very internal. Or in the context of the larger geekdom.

Im just personally so far past the whole "lol its a cat with tits" thing
Thats just me.

I think the sites pretty focused , few articles there are yet :)

Optionally, you could use it as a repository of press articles about furry fandom, muich like the now abandoned pressedfur.com. I'd appreciate a site like that. :)

The first image that passed through my mind when reading "www.fursecution.com" was: furries + execution = a furry Ogrish.com

And I chuckled inside at the thought:)

Do what I do, don't let furry into your personal life. It really has nothing to do with anything serious anyway, it's all just disposable entertainment.

That would be pretty cool. Reading about people who take it so seriously is half of the entertainment!

Fuck with everyone's head. Put up pictures of cute baby animals, so your site gets popular on the interweb.

...then, get drunk and replace the image with goatse, and fursuitsex.

Those grandmothers and corporate web proxies will never be the same.

Use it to lure furries into posting their personal OMG! FURSECUTION stories so we can read and laugh at their angst over having to take off their leopard suit and chaps in Starbucks.

Also works if you, oh say... start a random #furry channel on IRC and lie in wait for furries to pop in not knowing what's going on

It may just be me, but hearing "fursecution" doesn't make me think of "furry execution". It makes me think of "furry pursecution".

You know how furries tend to add "fur" to random words like "furvert" and "transfur" and "furpile"? Ergo, a furry fan is made fun of for dressing up in a stupid-looking costume and claiming to be a bat-winged herm foxtaur, and it's fursecution.

Just a thought.

Well, Stoneth, that's pretty much the dictionary definition of 'fursecution' - persecution of furries. LOL and a-not.

An archive of public news about furries would be most appreciated. (Maybe host the MTV video, etc. as well?) However, seems it'd be pretty sparse, considering how rarely furries break onto CNN. Coupled with an archive of Internet Lawsuits by and against furries you'd have some substance.

I was going to suggest that, but figured there might be bandwith issues with hosting that many flash animations. Then again, for all I know subversive may have a T3+ connection available.

To similar to Pressed fur with the articles. As for hosting MTV programing, then you run the risk of a real LAWSUITE by... real people.

I would just suggest loring dumbass furries into posting their angst stories for mock value.

Well, yeah, but PressedFur hasn't been updated in more than two years... And it's on a server that overstressed my pop-up killer.

I'm willing to offer a hand and help a little if the "news archive" idea is to be taken.

Fixed and uploaded a couple of sets, more will come later.

If i've gotten something out of order or if it doesn't work, let me know. All files should work now regardless of where you save them to or what is up at furryfans.com

http://shawnkellerisawesome.fursecution.com/

Edit: If anyone has a copy of his comic "Horrifying look at the Fandom" just laying around, let me know :)

(Or any other good fanboy meltdown print-only stuff.. or actually anything they'd like to see up there. :)

I've got the annotated PDF version of Shawn Keller's Horrifying Look, and Skunk in jpeg format on my computer, along with a hard copy of Horrifying Look that I could scan. Assuming you've got a decent connection, you should be ably to download them fairly quickly (about 12 megs all together) off me on Soulseek. Let me know if you're interested and I'll share them.

Bear in mind, though, that some of the annotations are a little off base, like Bob Guthrie is mistaken for Eric W. Schwartz :)

For those interested, my username is Troglodyte (remember, it's case-sensitive). Those that don't have it can download Soulseek here.
After you install it, right click the userlist (I think it's open be default, but if not, just click the "User List" button near the top of the screen) and add my name, you should then be able to browse my files. The comics are in a folder titled cyd.

Sorry about that, I had only 5 upload slots available and some douchbag decided to download half my entire music collection. I expanded the number of upload slots and cancelled all his downloads. Looks like you're downloading just fine now.

Wait for it to come back in an hour, or try again tomorrow. Everything but Sean Keller's Guide is linked in the code tags above..

Well, suggestions of maybe talking to someone about why you would A) create such a silly word and B) use that said word to spend money on a website that will be titled that word come to mind.

Sorry if replies lately sound short, but I'm find this whole obsession for or against "furry" to be dumber and dumber. I mean, who gives a damn, its cartoons

It's people who spend too much time thinking about stupid unimportant shit that's the problem and what get's use crazy crap on the news like "Is Sponge Bod gay?". He's not gay, he's just a retard.

No offense, but are you from the Mister Roger's Neighborhood Planet where everything is sane and normal? Also, how can you have been in furry for this long and not have heard of the word "fursecution?"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Fursecution&btnG=Google+Search

I guess it is used more in the non-furry websites and forums to make fun of furs, so if you spend all your time on "safe" furry sites, you might not run into it.. Get out there and explore the rest of the interweb!

HAHAHAHAHA no. Sorry my good sir, it is far, far more than cartoons. Someone in a finely-crafted ivory tower might think it is only cartoons, but this is very sadly not so.

Furry is the nexus point of all that is horrible and pathetic, yet somehow filled with a surreal humor that defies simple explanation. Indeed, it is worthy to note that two websites that have become known for furry mockery have names that allude to this horribleness: PortalOfEvil.com and SomethingAwful.com

Where else can you see a middle-aged computer programmer in diapers lovingly stroking a fursuit-fox in bondage gear while two pasty-white rail thin twink-bois (who are actually straight, just jailhouse gay) draw animal-headed-people fucking schoolbusses in eachothers sketchbooks while wearing tails, ears and collars with ferret plushies slung over their shoulders while nearby elevators are put out of commision due to fat, oily, heavily-opinionated fanboys and their multi-thousand dollar collection of "lovingly rendered wolf anuses"?

This is furry, it is a never-ending source of true unintentional comedy in about seven thousand different ways, and I have become a fan all over again, just in a different way. (And not the way most "furry fans" would intend)

My interest, just like the true meaning of furry itself, really has nothing to do with "cartoons" anymore.

I just want to see a paysite call it "AMERICA'S HOTTEST NEW FETISH CULTURE!", because that sounds so fucking dumb it rolls the dumb counter over into awesome.

When I saw the word fursecution i immediately thought of this:

get some mannequins and some particularly crappy fursuits (there are some on ebay for like 5 bucks each right now) and apply heavily, fake blood, fire, explosives, etc. Should be good for a laugh.

I think fursuitsex.com used some similar language.

And yes, indeed they have:

Why have so many journalistic outlets featured stories of guys in fur suits having sex? Because it is new, exciting, and the general public is bored with the same old thing. Gay is hot, fur suit sex is even hotter. Join today and see what you have never seen before.

I am not going to really investigate that website (Holy shit is it NSFW) but the tone of that quote sounds like the kind of ad copy used to convince fence-sitting consumers that their specific product is the right one.

Is there someone out there looking at that website with their credit card half-way out and going "I just dont know. As much as I like seeing pasty fat guys have gay sex in shoddy costumes, I'm just not sure if this really is the hot new thing. I sure am bored with the same old thing though."
