I guess there was a furry car jacking at FC05 -

http://webpages.charter.net/reptyle/carjackfurry.avi

(video was apperently shot by this dude)

Supposedly the guy was trying to drive up to the front doors and there was some con-event going on. So some fursuiters ran over and dragged this guy out of his car (maybe not dragged..) - I dunno about you guys, but I found this pretty damn funny. :)

This video is scary. I mean, everything on it is scary. The laughs on the background remind me of Shawn Keller's animations. The lot of folks dressed in weird fursuits running towards the car. The car driver struggling to get back in his car. The photographer that comes oput from nowhere to take pictures like in an accident. The car speeding away, like I would do if I was in such a situation.

I don't know if it was planned or not. Don't know if this folk was the victim of an spontaneous funny furry prank, or everything was planned from the beginning. Truth be told, this is almost as painful to see as those "bloopers" showing terrible accidents that are supposed to be... funny... for some wicked mind. :b

Sort of like laughing at this:

Myself, if I was that driver, and supposing this wasn't planned, I would have tried to run over those freaks in weird costumes. And I'd claim self-defense in the trial.

I agree. I'm all for 'freaking out the squares' but christ, use your brains! As this tape was rolling I was counting off the charges I would file if I was this dude (and I felt like filing charges), assault is one, you don't put your hands on somebody, at least not like that, if the person feels threatened, its assault(or some variation of). Some sort of public humiliation charge might be in order, especially since it was filmed. I bet there are more you could think of, and depending on jurisdiction, judge, etc, I bet some would stick.
It WAS a prank, maybe an impromptu one too, but pranks can be dangerous and illegal. Plenty of bomb threats have bent sent to plenty of places over plenty of decades as 'pranks'. Seeing how that one fursuiter manhandled the victim and then another jumps in his car, which is about the equivelent of just up and deciding to take a jog through somebodies house, all the while having all these mascott things laughing and yelling at you, it does make me sick. It's very stupid to put people in situations where they have no fucking clue as to what is going on (I assume here that the guy in the car wasn't part of the convention), your likely to scare the hell out of them and in turn you might end up stabbed or shot. retards

There are few things I have seen in my life that are that amazingly stupid.

I mean, if there's one thing furry needs to do less of, it's "freaking out the squares."

That was just some guy far as I know. He had nothing to do with the convention at all.

Your right, and I did't mean to imply the fandom. Bad writing on my part, since this forum is for discussion on the fandom I should have assumed.

He should've pulled a gun out of his glovebox and shot them. Teach those furry bastards a lesson.

My S-10 does one-twenty-five. Air fare's a ripoff, to Cali I drive. I have a shotgun in the gun rack. I lock the doors, in case I'm attacked.

Life's been good to me so far...

Hi, I'm John Walsh and welcome to America's Most Wanted.

Tonight's first case involves furries, fursuits, carjacking and a brutal gangrape.

...

Furries running at me, no way to escape. That would be the scariest horror movie ever.

Furry survival horror (I originally wrote this in a PM to Mitch):

Entering into one of the hotel rooms, you notice a foul odor permeates the space. Off to the side is a small bathroom, through the crack in the doorway you can see light. You move towards it. Pushing the door open with your free hand, a warm stench hits you like a physical blow, and your senses begin to reel. You choke back vomit, fighting for composure as you struggle to take in what you're seeing.

At the end of the room (devoid of any toliet paper) you can see a bathtub filled to near overflowing with rancid urine. Moving closer, through the soured brown liquid you can make out a submerged figure, bright pink and motionless.

Suddenly, a grotesque cartoon pig head thrusts to the surface. You jump back, startled, as you watch the body rise; first the head, then the connecting torso, liquid flowing from the deformed mouth as it evacuates the head, the drooping lower lip giving the impression of a slobbering doped animal staggering to its feet, as it turns to face you.

It pauses, standing motionless... then begins to breath, deep and labored, every wet and sickening exhale causing urine to fly from it's mouth like spittle.

You're shaken to awareness at the sound of your own shotgun blast (you hadn't remembered pulling the trigger, or even raising the gun). Once, then twice, the impact lifting the figure up and slamming it back into the tiled wall behind it. As it falls limp back into it's own filth, the violence of the weight hitting the water sends a surge over the basin and onto the floor. It spreads towards you, causing you step back instinctively, retreating through the doorway and shutting it behind you.

Off into the bedroom now, you move away as the liquid seeps under the doors, staining the carpet; first a sickening yellow, then an unmistakable red. The red tells you you're safe now, but you're mind is still screaming run. As you turn for the hallway, you can't help but think; that was more urine than one.. person could produce. How coul..?

The answer stands between you and the doorway. Three more figures, then a fourth, then a fifth and sixth coming down from the end of the hall.

And you're almost out of shells.

Bump, update, whatever. The first video link is dead, but there's now a 'full' version of the video on that guys Livejournal. He says it shows what really happened unlike the shorter one, although I didn't see the shorter one so I can't say if its any different.

If you watch the first video (the new one on the livejournal doesn't play for me) it looks like the guy in the car is jumping with the fursuiter and looks to me like he's pretty happy, really.

Then when the guy jumps back into his car, he zooms through the parking lot. However, it looks like he goes down one of the parking alleys instead of exiting the lot, which would be my first order of buisness if I was just acosted :)

I dont know what the deal is with all the random people coming running out of nowhere towards the scene.. But I'd be willing to bet nothing bad happened there. Off the internet, furs are pretty meek and timid, and I just can't imagine anyone yanking a stranger out of a car. Overall it just looks like a whole bunch of spazzes getting really excited that someone showed up and not any kind of carjackery or anything.

So if anyone happens to know what I'm talking about and even reads my livejournal, I applogize. I didn't want this shit to turn into another Rodney King, where only a clip of something is seen everywhere and starts a riot.

January 13th 2005

First spot we hit it was the dealers room
finally i got all that porno that I cant afford
with red lights flashin - time to retire
then we turned the Doubletree into a structure fire

:D

In the second video a fursuiter runs up to the car .. and the guy opens the door and actually gets out and like hugs the fursuiter or something. then its about where the orginal video started.

Yeah it looks like they were just fooling around. But I think the guy wasnt there for the convention. Then again tho, I would imagine this is a pretty accurate depiction of what a 'furry carjacking' would look like - inept. :)

This is from the mailing list where that video originally came out:

"OK, here's what I personally saw from my position as Critterlympics Head Honcho, which gave me a little better perspective than you'll get from a bad video of the latter part of the incident. The guy drove up and started honking, for whatever reason. Vircoo and Donkey ran over to his car. He opened the door and stood up to interact with them. At no time did he appear angry, upset, or inconvenienced. What they were dealing with was what appeared to be a guest of the con who was laughing and playing along. If he had started to get mad, I'd like to think that they would have had the common sense to back off and leave him alone. If they hadn't, I would have gone over there and stopped them. The rest of what happened is on the video. He was not "yanked" from his car, no one tried to steal it, and I seriously doubt any part of it could have been considered a crime, let alone a violent crime. The police would probably smack you with the videotape if you tried to use it to get them to arrest someone. Yes, it could have escalated and turned into an ugly incident, but again, I'd prefer to give the fursuiters a little credit and believe they would know better than to keep pushing it when confronting someone who obviously didn't want them in his face.

In a worst-case scenario, they pushed the prank too far, too fast, and got lucky that the guy took it in stride and was willing to play along instead of socking one of them. In the best-case scenario, they were careful to assess the guy's reactions as they went along, ready to break it off and skedaddle if he seemed to be genuinely upset. Without video of the entire incident to go on, I don't know exactly what happened. Since the guy never complained to the hotel or the con and certainly never gave any sign of being angry, I'll assume things lean more toward the best case."

There, now everyone who was worried/scared/shocked/whatever can relax. :)
