Oh heck yeah. I'm not above looking at anthropomorphic zebra tits bound in a snug tank top and thinking "I'd buy that for a dollar."

But we're not here for it's good points. I mean.. not to say we can't praise that which is furry and praiseworthy... but you don't watch MST3K to appreciate the visionary cinematography of Ice Pirates, do ya?

......

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Mel.White, but yeah, I suppose I can see your point.

That was just a Robocop quote. I wouldn't pay squat for furry stuff. That's what the Internet is for.

See, rippers like Sibe aren't taking money away from furries.. they're just putting furry stuff in the hands of people who wouldn't pay for it to begin with. :)

Huh?

Mel White is a furry? I don't get it. I can see how this might tie-in with the Christian furries thread, what with how he reconciled his Christianity with being homosexual, but what does that have to do with furry (aside from the obvious gay=furry notion, but isn't that part of the reason the fandom got screwed up in the first place with Merlino's misguided antics)?

I think the "......" was meant in a "Zen... you sayin' you're okay with, and even like some furry porn??" way.

Tell us more about it

I know, the joke in the movie was that the line wasn't funny, and it still isn't.

Robocop is an awesome movie because it has:

-Chemicals
-The 80's vision of an ubercapitalist future
-Guns
-Guns
-Guns
-A robot
-The guy from 'That 70's show'
-Guns
-Complete abscene of furries
-Guns

Oh, and forgive my ignorance.

Is Sibe the one that runs that russian yiff archive?

I never said I was tee-totally against it. I don't collect it or fap to it, but your average furry nudie doesn't bother me simply by existing. I've weeded my own hard drive of furrier stuff over the past couple of years, but it's not like I wiped it all in a fit of anti-furry sentiment. I used to draw the stuff, after all.

The thing that entertains me here is the furry fixation on furry porn and their increasingly adamant insistence that their affinity for cartoon animals and personal fetishes are inseperable. Likewise... the continual proof that porn is very dear to furries (DA/Sheezy rants, getting pissy about post-its on naughty bits nd such) coupled with their insistence that furrydom is still almost as pure as the driven snow.

But some rabbit gal or cow babe in a tastefully nude image... heck nah. I don't have a beef with it.

No,no... Not "Mel White". "Mel.White" (her legal name, period and all) is an artist. She's best known for her work on the "Duncan and Mallory" comic.

One of these days I'm starting a poll asking "how far would you consider going with an anthro female if they really existed".

Robocop is an awesome movie because it has:

-Chemicals
-The 80's vision of an ubercapitalist future
-Guns
-Guns
-Guns
-A robot
-The guy from 'That 70's show'
-Guns
-Complete abscene of furries

Also awesome anti-car theft devices, guns, drugs, guns, druglords, guns, robots, and.... uh.. guns.

Also the final battle in Robocop 2 had one of the last great uses of stop-motion animation outside of Disney type movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach.

Sadly Robocop 3 sucked ass beyond all reason. I'm holding out they do a Terminator vs. Robocop movie that takes place before the third movie, effectively disrupting the timeline and erasing it from continuity. Though if they ever adapt the shitty Terminator vs. Aliens vs. Predator comic I'll have to kill someone with a scalpel and acid. Possibly a jackhammer.

Oh, and forgive my ignorance.

Is Sibe the one that runs that russian yiff archive?

No.

Okay, I get what you're saying.

Link? I can't find anything on her, thus the original thread's purpose is lost on me and I fear my severe ADD will force me to spin the thread into the abyss of off-topic hell.

I think rather you just gotta do whatever everyone else isn't doing. Thats what its all about :)

All that high school shit.. "I was making fun of furry fandom before you even knew what it was, fuck you, furry fandom is cool now "

Seriously tho, I could only ever justify attacking furry fandom across increasingly small points of debate or just larger general ones.

This recent post by Verix pretty much reflects the way I've viewed everything for a while. Nothings different, almost every group acts and reacts the same regardless. The things that are different in furry fandom are the way the group has grown - not really whats its done. Its interesting, to me, to see what less common abberations are. I hang out with a pretty wide variety of people everyday and I never pick up on anything other than minor deviations.

I ran across furry fandom a few years ago because it interested me and for some reason I've been vaguely aware of it for a very long time. I have memories of reading some... ahem interesting Usenet posts in the 1993-1994 area. (I wouldve been 12-14)

Only much later after I actually looked into fandom did the connection click. (~two years ago)

I must admit I got sucked in a bit. (Not to any large degree) I found stuff I liked and I really no problem saying that , nor am I ever going 'quit' anything and storm off disgusted. At most, fandom would shift further and further until I have no commonality with these people at all and just by definition alone I couldnt be involved to any degree.

It is good for a laugh. Then a growing unease as you realize how screwed up members of the same species as you could be so screwed up that they find cartoon animals sexy.

RoboCop is the greatest movie ever made.

I get sort of what Zen-Zhu's saying. I mean I used to draw the furries and I drew some fairly nice looking feline ladies. I just never got into the whole nude or porn thing just not me. Oh and Hard-Boiled blows Robocop out of the water it's got Chow Yun-Fat and babies that put out fire with their pee making it the best thing ever.

I agree with ZenZhu, as well. I don't hide my furriness or the fact that I also enjoy a good furrotica. None of my admittedly small furry porn collection involved toons, just human-like bodies with animal heads and features. And nothing really fetishistic, just vanilla nudes and mutual masturbation.

I also agree that the main reason so many have a beef with fandom is the obsession with sex and fetishes that too many take to an extreme, and as was also said, claimed to be inseparable when it really isnt. If the fetishes coudl be marginalized or taken private, then the fandom would likely be more 'mainstream' (as far as fandoms go)

Forget RoboCop and Hard-Boiled. The Heroic Trio... That movie owns ALL.

Now back to subject.

Furries...

How can I say this... I only know two Furs who are totally nomal when compared to the onslaught I have encountered with CYD's help. Therefore, I cannot say my opinion without a certain bias.

So, I'll just say it.

There is very little good in the Furry culture. For the loons run the asylum.
