I actually greatly enjoy Gonterman's work. He does however seem to have a knack for coming up with bizarre onomatopoeias. Not quite sure what the phrack "pi" means, but the name of the strip is Scarlet PI.

I actually wrote to Gonterman a little while back because the "pi" in a previous strip confused me. Apparently, wearing the suit is supposed to feel like you're being pricked by a million billion needles. So "pi" is the noise of needle pricking. Yes.

I have no idea what's going on with the breasts. I would think that Scarlet was admonishing Adam for being a big sexist and making her breasts huge and that his mom hadn't taught him any better, but Adam's gay. So that doesn't seem quite right. The alternative, though, is that Adam's mother had huge breasts and he's doing some sort of weird ultra-Freudian reverse Oedipus "All gay guys want to BE their mother" sorta thing.

Yah.. say what you will about the likes of NightKrawler/NachT, he's at least shown a smidgen of improvement, whereas Daveykins almost seems to get worse the more he draws.

I know there's some goodies for Win backdrops that lurk on DA, but I just can't be troubled to surf through the site for them. With the high-speed connection I have at work, I could zip through it pretty good on a slow day, but the fact that you can only look at about 24 images per page is like holding a NASCAR race in a school zone on a weekday.

Difference between Gonterman and myself, regarding artistic talent: I have no drawing abilitiy, am confortable wiith that particular limitation, and do not take it as "giving up" to not press the issue by assaulting anyones' eyes with my horrendous squiggles which are less comprehensible than a doctor's prescription.

(author is instead consoling self with as many larts against as many customers as he can get away with; Gonterman should be locked up before he has an epiphany and tries to do his catharsis from a tower with a rifle)

As crazy as Gonterman is, I have to give him props for not being so out of touch with reality so as not to recognize Walmart as evil. Most Missouri yokels I've met haven't figured that out yet, so good on him.

I actually think Gonterman's work is kind of endearing. When I read it, it makes me laugh whimsically in a "Oh, Davey-kins, you so kah-rah-zee!" kinda way. Unlike Ebonlupus, who makes me want to magically reach through the internet and kill him.

The new storyline for Scarlet-chan started with a role play I've heard about set in an evil amusement park, where they keep a set of prisoners, put them into high-tech character costumes, bend their minds into said chara's personality and let them live the character's lives in that park. Most of the Role Plays involve the prisoners either in their own minds, turned into the characters, or lost between the two as they try to escape. It's very popular in some circles.

Shawntae, you make it sound like this is your first time viewing DaveyKins' work. I find this very hard to believe seeing as how a) Scarlet PI is a remake of the much older original Foxfire comic and b) Gonterman's work is older than Yerf (in fact his art used to grace Yerf). DaveyKins did indeed write and draw numerous Sonic fanfics, so it's sort of influenced his style.

Or it could be that you're not much of a Gontermaniac. Still, his art is pretty hard to forget.

Of course having a degree in art doesn't mean that you can necessarily draw good. I am attending an art college and I know this first hand. A lot of my fellow students draw somewhat well (some draw REALLY well) but there are a few who couldn't draw their way out of paper bag, but that won't stop them from earning the same degree we're all going for which I commend them for.

That being said, you should 7r3mb<3 1|\| ph34r of David Gonterman. He is after all the Internet's most dangerous cartoonist.
