After I get myself back out of-massive-debt, my first plan is movign away from here. The Bay Area has far too many people for my liking, and the people are assholes.

Hah! Yeah. They don't know how the fuck to deal with snow here. The last month has been hell. I've finally got enough of it cleaned up at my place to get around - the apartments are still a mess. Of course, they won't pay to have it cleaned up at the shitty workplace - I'm just waiting for a goddamned lawsuit.

This city sucks. At least "Gold and Silver" has decent bread pudding. :wink:

Seriously - need advice here. I was thinking SF bay area , but then they banned smoking outdoors.. crazy. I was thinking Vegas might be my style. Right now .. Im strongly considering making a break for Hollywood or Vegas when the time comes... Im gonna get a gold '57 chevy (or whatever flashy classic automobile I can grab) to go with the gold-colored suit I have to find. Then some aviator style half-tint rose sunglasses, and a cigarette holder like I had years ago. Arrive on the scene in style and start livin large straight away. Theres the whole 'money' thing, but I figure that part will just sort itself out.

Not gonna happen. Unless you have massive skills, or know people - you'll be working in a casino, for barely-above-minimum-wage, and hating life. Same goes for Reno, mostly - but thankfully, we've got shitty industrial work, too.

Your post reminds me of all of the furries who moved to the bay in '98-'00, and couldn't even find a job during the boom. Most of them moved back, even more poor than they were when they came. I broke even - moved there with $40 in my pocket, and moved back, uh.. with debt! :wink:

Have you ever been to vegas? I went once on vacation. I mused about moving there. I think it would be cool because I for one am interested in living a life of sin. I would not mind being close to legal brothels and showgirls and lots of other types of entertainment if I decide to show my out of town friends around. Of course the fact that I'm in a commited relationship stops all that but if I was a youngster I would do it. I also would be around a certain community that I belong in that happens to be very strong in the vegas area but that probably doesn't apply to you.

I used to live in the so cal area very briefly. I might recommend that over vegas simply because you'd be around so much great stuff. The cartoon fandom is giant over there, there's asifa meetings and film festivals and showings and etceteras very often, usually attended by animation industry employees. To be so close to all those small events was sweet. Just look up all the geek related stuff and subscribe to their newsletters to find out more. I really enjoyed the con scene there too. Not the anime or furry cons because I never went to those when I lived there, just comics and geek cons in general. They had lots of cool ones there where I found tons of old cartoons on tape and other neat things to peruse. I met so many cool people like Sergio Aragones and Stan Sakai, I mean those types of guys are all over the fan activity and clubs over there. It was a nice brief time. If you stay connected to a general geek type fandom then you will find no end to amusements.

Keep in mind, Im sure I pay more tax than anyone else in the entire nation. California, Massachusetts... these states cannot even phase me :)

Im not even a homeowner, if I was - the $50k wrecks you'll find around here are probably close to paying $90k after property tax. I think my parents pay over $3000/year tax on a $90k home.
Come March, Ill be paying 9.25% sales tax - to live in one of the most corrupt counties in the United States. High taxes -very poor services.
Where you pay by the mile for shit thruways.
Sewage and standard runoff drainage are the SAME SYSTEM ( a buddys basement flooded with raw sewage during a heavy rainfall not too long ago. Seriously.. toilet paper floating around, the whole nine yards)
