The article is here: http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-ed-seuss5feb05,1,4790220.story but the vast majority of you will most likely not have access.
It is a cyncial jab at James Dobson and others who see naughtyness in childrens fiction, and raises sarcastic issue with the sexual roles of the likes of "Bert and Ernie", "The Cowardly Lion", and "Peppermint Patty".
I would have posted it here except for the fact that CYD's legal budget is most likely dwarfed by that of the Los Angeles Times.

Following Dobson's train of thought means that everybody and everything has some sort of sexual deviance.

Editz0r: It was an editorial, I'm an idiot.
LA Times still doesn't suck, and James Dobson still likes the cock. I mean, if he's going to spend that much time analyzing children's cartoons.... analizing? HE'S A FAG.

"• Superman and Spider-Man have proper girlfriends. But Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder? Come on."

That kind of accusation really happened. Back in the 50's, the notorious Dr. Wertham accused the Batman/Robin relationship be a thinly-disguised gay/pedo fondlefest.

And Having a GF didn't spare Superman from the critique either. Dr. Wertham commented that the Man of Steel was just a front for Aryan Supremacy and should have had two S's on his outfit instead of one.

Spidey escaped Wertham's bitch-hammer only because his book was published eight years before Spider Man was created.
